"Wonderful lodge! Liked it so much we rearranged our itinerary to come back for another night. Super quiet & scenic. Really enjoyed the pool, deck, restaurant, and seeing birds, monkeys and iguanas. Arrived too late for pizza the first night, but stayed to have it for lunch and it truly was delicious. However, learned later that Costa Rica’s ban on feeding wildlife extends to private property and bird feeders, so it would better not to feed the birds at all, or at least farther from the deck so macaws don’t swoop in for human breakfast food. "

"The headline doesn't lie--it's definitely a million-dollar view! Whatever the time of day, looking out towards the ocean was spectacular. The sunsets were incredible, and the waves were spectacular to watch. It provided the peace and relaxation we were hoping for! A couple of pointers for first-timers to the property:1. In order to have such a beautiful view in an unpopulated area, the location is remote. Make sure to do as much shopping for food, etc., as you can while on your way out. It takes too much time away from the trip if you don't, because traffic moves SLOWLY. 2. Hoyt is very responsive. Don't hesitate to reach out to him if there are any issues.3. Don't bother bringing too many clothes. You'll wear swimsuits most of the time.4. If you like ice cream, get your hands on some ChaRo brand ice cream (it's a Costa Rican brand) as soon as you can. We didn't discover it until late into the trip and we were sorry we didn't have more days to enjoy it. "

"I knew this place wasn't going to be great but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I was traveling with my three daughters and the door to our ground floor unit wouldn't properly lock. The inside has moldy ceilings, broken things in the kitchen, filthy bathroom, the knob to the hot water in the shower was completely gone. The AC couldn't keep up so we were sweating all night. Then in the middle of the night the loudest DJ/pool music came on to wake us up. It happened three times between 2-4 am even after I repeatedly asked the front desk to solve the issue. When we got there they said the pool was closed (at 5pm?) but someone was loudly swimming later for over an hour. It was a quick night stopover on our road trip but we left miserable and tired and uncomfortable. We are pretty flexible travelers and stay in cheap places regularly but this was awful. "

"If you’re looking for a safe place to stay, this place is it. Very safe: enclosed parking, entire property is enclosed, guests wear wristbands to be identified, and you don’t have to leave for food, drink, or pool. The cleanliness was average. The people were very nice and helpful. "

"What an excellent property. We had an outstanding stay and enjoyed the house immensely. It has an excellent kitchen. A bonus to us were the spices that so many places don’t have. We are avid cooks and we took advantage of the opportunity to create our own meals. We especially loved having fresh ginger just outside the door. If we had any questions about the house or amenities, the gracious property manager was able to answer. Excellent communication. We would recommend this property and hope to come back soon. "
