"Nice rooms, comfortable bed, friendly staff, main meals were good, breakfast was ok, but not much choice if you like a continental breakfast, easy place to get to. "
"This hotel was phenomenal. The grounds were impeccable, and the staff was very accommodating and professional. The food was spectacular and the breakfast were very filling. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is truly a beautiful place."

"The welcoming staff were amazing and the place is incredible. The dining area was good but could be better. The menu is limited and the service is not very friendly including the greeting at the entry point. Breakfast was self service and the selection was reasonable, however the replenishment was slow and infrequent. There were quite a few guests walking around looking for cutlery and also waiting for fresh food to come out. Not the best experience for dining but the stay was relaxing and amazing, well worth the money. "
"Great location and a nice spot. House is on a few levels with some odd steps, so it’s a bit tricky with a small kid and a few basics not there (salt and pepper, a sponge, colander, etc.), and the house needs a few bits of work, but it’s clean, the location was a dream and so great to walk to everything in town. The price was great, and we enjoyed sitting in the garden, too. Highly recommend walking to the Mor bakery in the morning. "
"Fun old hotel that you’ll really enjoy if you like staying in a tradition hotel above a bar/pub/restaurant. No noise complaints so don’t worry there’s going to be bumping music keeping you awake. Bed was good, room was clean and shower was hot. Several drinks and snacks in the room. Right across the street is cafes for breakfast and within walking distance is lots of shopping. "
"Had a lovely stay at Windsor cottage. Well presented, great amenities and the most comfortable bed in the master bedroom. Slept like a log!
Ate out in local restaurants, which were lovely especially Alberto’s Italy.
There are a couple of free parking areas in town 5-10 minutes away. During our stay there was a film set in place for Father Brown and a restriction at the end of the road. It didn’t take away from our stay, but was glad of the premier inn parking just a 100m away. We pulled up to the cottage easily to drop off but when the film set was in place that week only, we carried back to the premier inn really close car park. At the time only £3 a night if you pay in the machine right by the premier inn entrance, as advised by their staff. Worked really well. Would highly recommend using it for the cottage as it made coming and going from the cottage really easy with lots of spaces.
(The only very tiny issues to highlight to the owners need to maintain the path out the back of the property, to make more pleasant use of the back gate for rubbish. Also just some maintenance like the blind in the bathroom)
However I would definitely book again as it’s a great base for Blenheim and the rest of the beautiful Cotswolds.
One bathroom which has a massive shower, the lounge was cosy with a log burner and the kitchen was well appointed for our short stay. We really enjoyed our stay at Windsor Cottage.
Thank you!"
Charming dog friendly holiday home in the North Cotswolds - Lower Barn
10/10 Excellent
"We were a couple with 2 dogs (asked permission in advance) staying for 4 nights. Lovely cottage with plenty of room for two. Central location with some good 1-2hr circular walks. It’s a five minute walk into the centre of Chippy which has a nice Italian restaurant Alberto’s and a market on a Wednesday. Traffic is heavy through the town, as is with most of the Cotswolds villages, but you cannot hear the traffic in the cottage. We had beautiful weather so the trails were not muddy."
Quaint dog-friendly Cotswold cottage in Chipping Norton - Tukes Cottage
10/10 Excellent
"It’s rare these days to find a rental that is set up for someone to actually live there comfortably for an extended time — usually the facilities are good enough to put up with for a few days, but quirky at best. This house is a home. Everything just makes sense, from the towel racks over the radiators to the bath/shower to the furnishings.Communication from the property management company was solid, and the local contacts were prompt and helpful. It was easy to follow the instructions to the lockbox. Parking is a little tricky, with "unrestricted" (24-hour) parking only available in nearby streets except on Sundays. The garden is up some steep stairs, but that's not atypical for the area. Bedrooms were very comfortable and it was nice to have a half bath on the ground floor. The TV worked fine and the wifi was strong and easy to connect to. The drying rack was helpful; we visited partway through our trip and needed to wash clothes. It's a short walk to a set of shops and pubs in Chipping Norton, so we had lots of options for breakfast and dinner. There's a small grocery and drug store close by as well, very convenient. We'd definitely stay here again; it was the best experience we had in our 2 week trip around England. "
"The location was close to the high street and conveniently accessible to nearby attractions in the Cotswolds. The house was cozy and warm, making it a great choice for a family winter getaway for a few days. However, there were a few minor details that could be improved, such as the TV remote lacking batteries (we had to purchase and replace them ourselves) and the kitchen knives being quite dull, which made them difficult to use. These small points aside, we had an enjoyable stay overall."
