"A beautiful hotel in a lovely setting with the sound of the river when you sat on the terrace. The staff were exceptional and always ready to help with any request. The room was very comfortable, lovely big bed and superb bathroom."
"Comfortable beds and clean rooms. There was a noisy extractor fan or generator somewhere very close that ran all night. A kettle would have been better in than a fancy coffee machine."
"Very friendly, professional staff, nicely planted beer garden, and well tended. Good food, excellent service.
Top room was very hot on arrival, but there was a fan,and we coped with the window open wide."
"We received a wonderful warm welcome and the same level of friendly hospitality throughout our stay.
The food was excellent and we enjoyed the company of locals in the pub.
We thoroughly recommend this as place to stay, eat or just have a drink in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. "

"Wonderful pub and accommodation. The people are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. This 16th century public house still supports many original features making its atmosphere charming. The room was fairly small, a double bed and the small wardrobe made it tight to get to the bathroom but it was very clean and comfortable. Street Parking is available in front of the pub for free but only from 6pm till 9am so you need to move the car at 9am. The food was good but pricier than either of the 2 public houses within staggering distance. Breakfast was well presented and good choices. The church across the road is beautiful inside, well worth a look. "
Spacious House set in the heart of Chagford, Dartmoor
10/10 Excellent
"The house was very clean and comfortable. Graham was a wonderful host and available for any questions. He also provided us with some suggested sites to explore during our visit. Overall a great stay and highly recommended!"
"House was warm and comfortable. What really recommends this place is its location. You can walk out of the property and go exploring in any direction without getting in the car. A few tors, the Warren House pub and Grimpound (bronze age settlement) are all within a manageable distance with young children (ours 3 +7)."
One Gidleigh Park. Unique luxury cottage in magical woodland, Chagford, Devon
10/10 Excellent
"Really enjoyed out time at One Gidleigh Park, the property was immaculate throughout and very well equipped with everything being of high quality and exactly as represented by the photos. The gardens surrounding the cottage are very nice and well maintained and at the rear of the property blend into some dense and very steep woodland facilitating the sighting of various forms Devonian wildlife from time to time including a lost army patrol who had got lost in the woods on night-time manoeuvres and made their way through the garden trying to find their way back to a road 😆 The location is exceptionally quiet and private being at the end of a mile long single track road that terminates at the luxury Gidleigh Park Hotel. Many walks start or emanate close to the cottage and access to Dartmoor and the surrounding countryside is good. The nearby village of Chagford is very quaint with several nice pubs and some interesting shops. Be wary though if you are a nervous driver, many of the roads in the area are single track with some steep gradients! Communication with the host was polite and responsive and the only slight negative for us was that you cannot control the heating yourself. If you want to change the temperature you have to ask the host who will change it remotely - not ideal, but not enough of a niggle that we would not come back. On the whole highly recommended if you want a quiet peaceful break in an outstanding location. "
