"The cabin is set back in a large stand of mature Live Oaks and Cedar Elms which provide lots of shade and the patio is huge, great for meals and hanging out. The cabin is incredibly clean, well decorated (rustic), very cozy, relaxing and well stocked with most everything you might need. The well water is delicious and clean! We really enjoyed the goats visiting us in the morning and evening. They are very respectful and Mayor Ringo is affectionate like a dog, he loves to be petted! Beth gave us a tour of their family's Century Ranch while sharing it's rich Texas history. I love Texas so her stories gave me goose bumps! Beth and Tom are amazing stewards of their property and love to share it with their guests if you like.We will be going back!P.S. The drive to Colorado Bend SP via US 580 is a gorgeous 30 minute drive with lots of elevation change and twisting roads! Amazing views!"

They went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. Their warm hospitality and thoughtful touches throughout the stay made all the difference. "We had a wonderful girls weekend at the Peaceful Country Retreat with my best friend and her two daughters. The house was perfect and very spacious and lots to keep the kids entertained without having to leave the house for the weekend. We caught so many good size bass and enjoyed cooking out and enjoying the back porch and the scenery. Kelly was very responsive and helpful when needed we can't wait to come back! "
"Melissa and Bob are the most gracious and helpful hosts. We spent 3 months there to escape our home state winter. Acres of land to explore. Great bass fishing. The dogs are very friendly. The horses Roy and JR, and the donkey Jack are a hoot. All very friendly. Still can say enough about Melissa and Bob, wonderful people. The house had everything we needed for cooking, relaxing and cleaning. The WiFi is super. There is a fiber optic line running thru the property so I suspect they are connected to that. The well water is excellent tasting. Nice patio with a gas or charcoal grill, gas or wood fire pit. Nice shade trees. Lots of wildlife. Just a great place to stay. And stars that we can't see in the city. "
