"This is a family-run hostel located near Vatnajökull National Park. The layout of the hostel is very well planned out, with many private bathrooms, showers, and beds that allow for a very comfortable stay. My husband and I were especially impressed with the quality of the kitchen and dining space, because it allowed for multiple groups to cook at the same time in their own space, and the kitchen was very well equipped with all the items that one would need to cook a proper meal."
"Great views, beds were comfortable, sauna was relaxing after a long hike, and the front desk staff were extremely helpful and even expedited our check in as we arrived a little early. "
"The property itself was immaculate. Great indoor and outdoor areas and a well equipped kitchen for preparing meals (there are no restaurants around the area). There is also a washer and dryer so you can do laundry.
The only downside are the road conditions to the property; they are rocky and not well paved.
The hotel does not have a proper check in / front desk, so locating the exact building for me to pay for the stay was a bit challenging. "

"If you like being out of the way Afternoon Cottages is a great jumping off point for adventuring. It is well equipped and very clean. It has a great price point and very basic. It worked great for us because it was simply a place to cook dinner and sleep. You have access to all the necessities about 25 minutes away in Hella. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here."
"We loved our stay in a glamping tent here. It was the perfect chill out between hiking the laugavegur and fimmvorduhals trails. The little sauna is great after hiking, the staff were so helpful and the trails in the area are fantastic. Walk the orange trail, the glacier views are amazing! "
"We enjoyed this property for our 2 night stay. The rental unit looks brand new and is furnished very well. It was probably the largest and nicest rental units we stayed in for our entire two week trip. It was nice to have the space!
The only downside to this property is that it was out in the country, away from everything. So grab what you need before retiring for the evening. We were slightly disappointed that our cabin rental was in the middle of the other rentals, so we really didn’t have a nice scenic view. Our windows faced the other cabins and felt we needed to keep the curtains drawn. Too bad the cabins couldn’t be arranged to not look right into the other cabins."
