Unique Secluded Cabin with Loft on Classified Forest

  • Great place to stay if you're visiting The Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, Belterra Casino or just wanting to get away from the city to enjoy the outdoors. Once you walk inside you'll notice the wood burning stove and the open floor plan. Watch the deer, turkey and rabbits browsing in the field. Take a stroll on one of the many trails on the 20-acre Classified Forest or if the outdoorsman/outdoorswoman peaks an interest go for a hunt (for an extra fee).
    To address the less than 5 star reviews:
    -A new water system, water filtration and toilet was installed in October 2022.
    -The gravel driveway is graded regularly and was just graded as of Oct 10th.

The place was beautiful and well kept. Reasonably remote, you'll hear some lawnmowers but you won't see a neighbor unless you're actively trying to. Saw a lot of wildlife, rabbits, deer, butterflies. Electric, AC and gas were reliable and worked great. Wood stove looked so cozy, almost wish we didn't come during a heat wave so we could have enjoyed it. Wifi is spotty, so don't forget your LotR box set like I did, but to me thats more of a bonus amenity then a requirement for a remote cabin. There are some signs posted about being mindful of water usage but we probably used a bit more than we should have and never ran out. Check in was smooth as can be and host was polite and responsive. The drive is just a little rough. I'm confident that pretty much any 2WD could make it, but if its slick out you may have a little trouble. We put it in 4WD just to be safe. One of my favorite cabins ive stayed at, definitely recommended.

The cabin was just as described, and we very much enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were accommodating of our early arrival time and left a nice anniversary gift for us when we arrived. The cabin provided a quiet, secluded and peaceful end to our days of exploring both sides of the Ohio River. Thanks for a great stay!

Just what we needed!

My husband and I booked our stay at Cedar trails for our birthday and to rest/reset. We brought our 2 pups along and they had the time of their lives running around on the property. Mike and Amber were amazing hosts. They responded quickly with any questions we had. There were some wasps trying to build a nest on the porch and Mike took time out of his day to purchase wasp spray and come to the property to take care of it. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Baby Moon Getaway

The cabin was perfect for our baby moon! We are expecting our third kiddo and the cabin was an excellent spot to enjoy the fall weather, do nothing and spend quality time together. The gravel road is steep and not for the faint of drivers. The kitchen needed a cutting board and a can opener. Otherwise, the cabin had everything else you could need. The hosts were helpful and responsive. They have done an amazing job with the cabin and all of the amenities. The location was near many small towns and iconic spots to visit. It was the perfect place for my husband and I to reconnect before a new chapter of life begins. Thank you for a beautiful stay!

Super cute very secluded

We were in town for a fishing trip and really just stayed there at night. I was super impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin and it is in very good condition. It was enjoyable to see the deer and turkey on the property and the turkeys calling were fun to hear. I didnt bother to lock the door or lock my truck during my stay, its super secluded. I did wind down with some pizza i picked up in Rising Sun and watched tv of the evening. The house does have wifi and really anything that is needed for your stay. Cell coverage is spotty in the area so the wifi helps. I have no doubt that visitors of this cabin turn into repeat visitors. I certainly would stay here again. The driveway leading back to the property was a bit intimidation to pull my boat into but i did fine, i did use 4x4 to reduce likliness of problems. If this is on your list stop looking further.. Rent this one while you can.

Perfect Secluded Getaway

This little cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway! We saw so many deer on the road leading up to the property and in the forest. The house was nice and had everything we needed. The GPS took us down the street from the actual house so you have to look for the house using mailbox numbers. Just a warning - the driveway definitely requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle that isn’t low to the ground. We were in a Toyota 4-runner and it was rocking us back and forth going up and down the driveway. We took our German Shepherd and she loved the property. It was secluded enough that we could have her off the leash as we explored! The only downfall is the how many ticks were on her!! I guess it’s a given because of the rural area but we weren’t prepared and had to give her tick medicine as soon as we got home. The only food in town is called Uptown pizza and they are actually really good! We had a great time and read through the whole guest book! This was a great way to spend our anniversary weekend.

The cabin was awesome very clean and secluded. We sat on the front deck and watched the birds and walked some of the trails. So peaceful and quiet. Highly recommend it if you want to get away for a relaxing time. Stores were close and the beautiful drive there was so relaxing.
