One of Folly's Best! Sand Castle in the Sky is located on the top floor of an elevated building. This 3 bedroom 3 bath condo is the perfect retreat without any noisy neighbors above you! The views from this 3rd-floor condo's open balcony are awe-inspiring from sunrise through the starry night sky. From watching waves throughout the day to the beautiful lights on the pier at night, it's a memorable vacation spot! The primary suite has a king-size bed and the other two bedrooms have queens. Sit on the balcony in the morning and enjoy the warm sun while watching the dolphins play and enjoying your morning coffee. You can park up to two cars in the off-street private parking lot the entire time you are here as everything is within easy walking distance. The property is clean and comfortable with inviting decor and TV's in every bedroom. It is one of the nicest condos on the beach! Beach lovers can enjoy the ocean from the balcony or by walking directly onto the beach. During the summer enjoy the water at one of the only sections of the beach with a lifeguard. Those who like to fish can walk less than one block down to the Folly Beach Fishing Pier to join other anglers. Great restaurants, fresh seafood vendors, and a grocery store are all nearby. This condo is a great base to explore the beach and then the Historic City of Charleston. Sand Castle in the Sky allows up to 2 well-behaved, house-broken, flea-treated dogs with approval. Please include the breed and size of your dogs when you inquire. While we manage this property we do not manage the maintenance of this building. Awesome location that is within walking distance to the important stuff! The unit itself was very clean, nice layout, with incredible views. Easy access to the beach. The balcony is an excellent spot for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Elevator was broken and it was HOT the week I stayed, but still very much worth it. I enjoyed it tremendously and will be looking to return next year.

Location is an important factor for us when choosing a place to stay. Sand Castle in the Sky did not disappoint! It's walkable to many restaurants and shops. The ocean view from this 3rd floor condo is perfect. Even when it was a bit too chilly to be on the beach in early March lounging on the deck made up for it. Responsive property manager when questions arose. Clean and comfortable accommodations. We will definitely choose to stay at Sand Castle in the Sky in the future.

This property is a fabulous location. Spectacular views and close to town. However, if you are traveling in winter expect to be freezing if you are in the bedrooms near the entry door and over heating if you are in the master bedroom. Also be prepared to take cold showers. One other note: the building is being supported underneath by wooden beams as the trusses are rotting.

Elevator not working and found out from another unit owner it’s been out of order for months! Unless you are on the first floor and you are in excellent health do not take a room on the third floor 52 steps! Two times the air conditioner stopped working and had to have a repair man.

I cannot express how beautiful this condo is. The pictures definitely don’t do it justice. The unit was impeccably clean and comfortable for a beach front condo and we have pretty high standards when it comes to rental properties. My parents and our 3 pups stayed for 4 nights and we could not believe how gorgeous and private the condo was. The view and sunsets on the huge patio and close proximity to the restaurants and shops made it a perfect spot for us. The only draw back was the elevator sometime didn’t work and climbing 4 flights of stairs was a heavy strain for my elderly parents and myself post 2 knee surgeries, but other than that minor inconvenience it was worth every penny to stay here and we definitely plan to come back again in the future!

The view from the balcony is incredible. We received a call before check in that the dishwasher was leaking and the part had been ordered. I was told I could still use it but to place towels around floor. I chose not to use. We arrived to the elevator being out of order. This may be an issue for an older couple. I think I counted about 50 steps up. The unit stayed between 74 and 78. I reported to Maintenace etc. All of this as aside I would honestly stay again if the elevator worked and the A/C could keep up.

Booking the place to stay was easy. The condo was not priced well for that area, and the beach was not as clean as you would expect for that price. This was our first trip to Folly Beach and the last. Trash and dog poop on the beach was not something I wanted to deal with. Clean up after yourself. The condo was nice, it was just not worth the price they charge. The elevator was very slow. The building needs some repairs on the deck, the wood is showing some age to it. Toilet paper holders in bathrooms are not in a good place at all. Consider free standing toilet paper holders. Just not the beach for us.

We wanted to give my sister a chance to sample a Charleston vacation but wanted waterfront. Folly is soooo much more convenient to Charleston than Wild Dunes (where my husband and I had stayed before) As we only had a short weekend, we packed as much as we could into the time we had and she was thrilled! The high tide prevented us from getting on the beach much with our schedule but it was still good being waterfront. Our only concern with this rental was the weathered table on the balcony as it was wobbly and rough. My sister sat in one of the chairs and it swayed quite a bit so none of us used it. Others mentioned the elevator. It did work just VERY slowly. The first time I got on it, I really thought I was stuck. Some mentioned the thermostat. We didn’t adjust it as my sister is cold natured and I thought to bring a fan. There are no fans other than ceiling fans available (which I couldn’t reach). However, had our trip been during the hotter summer, not being able to cool the condo lower than 72 would’ve been a deal breaker. Certainly a place we would consider again but directly through Best rentals only. VRBO fees are HUGE and unclear. Be aware of a LONG list of misc fees!

My two college age kids came home for Thanksgiving week to visit my husband, daughter and I and we decided to get out of the city and go to the beach. Folly was perfect! Adorable a beach town just 10 minutes outside of Charleston and right on the beach. It was a great family getaway, a perfect beach location, and the condo was adorable. It was bright, had a stunning view, fantastic deck (3rd floor) where we sat every morning watching the waves and morning surfers, nicely decorated, clean, nice linens and bedding, well stocked kitchen for us to pull off Thanksgiving, The manager replied to questions immediately, and a nice touch to have someone stop in the morning after we arrived to see if everything was ok. Kudos to the property managers. We wanted to stay longer!
