"We had a room overlooking the main road and it was fairly noisy in the evening with traffic / nightlife , particularly with the window open. Otherwise the room was a good size , shower very good , bed comfy"

"Very friendly place although has a lot of steps so not really practical if people have disabilities Breakfast was very nice and we were able to leave the car outside the check in / check out hours so that was great"

"Lovely room. Comfy bed. Toiletries were great. Hairdryer was good & not attached to the wall like some hotels. Shower was a little low pressure but that’s minor. Lovely breakfast. Staff are so friendly. We arrived back at our room after a day out to find a card which was handwritten by the lovely hotel manageress & a box of chocolates for my birthday. Very kind indeed. Great location. Car park was a little tricky to find but we got there in the end ! Will definitely stay here again . Nice hotel ."

"Lovely helpful staff, comfortable, clean room (superior room) and the continental / cooked breakfast was good. I stayed overnight on a Friday arriving at 7pm and the available parking in the hotel carpark and local area was extremely limited so I would recommend arriving early. Do not rely on being able to connect to the hotel free WiFi. I could not connect at all and was told by a staff member that it was most likely due to the bar / restaurant areas being busy. I am on O2 and could not get any phone or 4/5G signal. However, if being able to connect to WiFi isn’t important I would recommend the hotel."

Darwin's Townhouse

"Another enjoyable stay at Darwin. The room was spotless and had a comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. There’s a honesty bar where you can help yourself to drinks and snacks and pay on departure. The hotel is very close to the town centre where there are lots of eating places to choose from. We parked on the St Julien’s Friars carpark which is reasonable priced and just round the corner from the hotel. Would definitely recommend here."
