Hotel Herzog Georg is a real gem hidden in rural Germany. The size of room is larger than a standard European room and we were very happy to have 2 large size doubles for my wife and 15 yr old son. Breakfast was massive European style and quality was superb. Lots of walking opportunities around town with site seeing and hiking just a short drive away. A couple notes, not much English spoken here, or in town at all. People were extremely gracious and we didnt have any issues, but just be...

Everything met our expectations. Close to the attractions we wanted to see and very friendly staff.

Great artsy urban feel with high quality built rooms.

The room was clean, comfortable, and the lovely hostess was very welcoming. This hotel is on the side of a hill which is icy in the winter. There are also many stairs, so this hotel would not be a good choice for those with mobility issues. The view from the window was incredible, like a storybook.

We loved our stay at the hotel! The suite was spacious and it was very convenient to have a kitchenette. I was most impressed by the service. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Luka was very friendly and polite. When, due to road closures, Bolt and taxis were unavailable, Jonas *offered* to drive us to the Festspielhaus! If it had not been for him, we would have missed the performance! Thank you, Jonas! The hotel is across the street from Lidl, which is very convenient for when one needs...

enjoyed our visit

The receptionist (male) seems to have a reputation for being aggressive and rude but we found him professional, rather than unfriendly. The hotel buildings are split and are on different levels with several dining areas and bars. Limited wine list but lots of beers, we had a reasonable meal although the venison was without flavor or texture. The bedroom and bathroom were fine and the free breakfast buffet was excellent with lovely staff. Free onsite parking was the final star in our rating!

The staff were fantastic. The town had a lot to offer. We stopped here on a journey so this was nit the destination but the staff made us feel.very welcome. Nice bar and restaurant on premises.

Clean, friendly staff, B-fast included, it has his own restaurant. They were very accommodating, after an unpleasant experience at another hotel we came back to Gasthous and they allowed us early check in and even to have bfast that morning, it was a relief to find again Gasthous. Will go back and stay again!!
