Im sure 30 years ago this was a premier hotel to stay at. The lobby was very elegant. The pool and hot tub were empty. The air-conditioning was poor. But the price was excellent. Clean sheets, clean towels great staff

The room is spacious. Clean is ok. Bathroom and shower is good.
The website description is not accurate. No ground floor rooms clean enough to use ( per mgmt). Elevator broken. Homeless all around ( not the the hotels fault). Pool without water.
Staff was friendly and informative. The room and halls smelled like a cigarette was lit all day long. There was roaches in the fridge and bathroom. The microwave was dirty. The fridge was very dirty, unplugged and had bugs inside. The tv only had 8 working chanels. The bathroom sink had a cigarette shoved inside and it sprayed water from the back of the faucet when turned on.
The floors had crumbs from previous tenats i guess. There was a 10 minute window to refuse to stay there but with no other available rooms anywhere else, we didnt have a choice. Wont be back and do not recommend at all. Especially with kids

This was a value pic for me. My favorite part for the stay was the sign that read this is not a five star hotel. Their self rating was two stars. I appreciate the honesty. Staff was very kind and professional.

Check in was no issue at all . The photos don’t really match with the actual hotel . The hallways are dirty , anyone can get into the parking lot . The walls were kind of thin cause you can hear the conversation from the other side . The furniture is old and outaded .
It was surrounded by hoodlums and crackheads. I checked in and checked out within the hour because it felt unsafe. Staff was great though!

Needs work
The room needs major renovations and new furniture. The tub was very uninviting and i chose not to use it. The TV had no signal even ater checking the cable connection. Non working elevator.
The bed was clean and comfortable and the room was large.
The elevator is broke so you have to use the stairs. The stairs appear to have been smeared with, what I can only assume to be leaking, rotten liquid from trash being hauled out from the residents that live there. I overheard another couple checking in the next day and heard the front desk inform them they had a half hour to change their mind and receive a refund. Had I been given this option I would have jumped at the chance! Our fridge didn't work and the cold stuff we had purchased before learning it didn't work, spoiled. Also, there are bugs!
The sheets were clean, and the be was comfy.
I'm Originally from Fresno. This used to be a nice area, but it is now overrun with addicts and the homeless. I haven't stayed in a place like this since I was a teenager. I can't believe this place is an option in a booking site.
Both employees that I spoke to were great. I feel like the customer service is really good however the room was very dirty and was the home to a huge family of cockroaches that were on the bed, climbing the walls, and calling the bathroom, their homebase. The parking lot was a little sketchy but overall not bad. I truly believe that if there wasn’t a bug problem, it would’ve been fine but when you’re ready to go to sleep, and there are cockroaches in your bed, it’s kinda hard to sleep.
That was the final straw for my family and I. We immediately packed up and went down to the front counter to check out and hopefully get a refund. The employee was very nice and said that she had processed a partial refund and I should be getting that refund within the next few days hopefully that goes through.
Needs updating nvery unfriendly owner/manager entered our room 2 times before checking out felt rushed when we had 2hrsvtill checkout!most of working staff friendly ,a rooms & property in bad shape pungent smell thru rooms & hallways ,was there 6 night never seen security at anytime, very scetchy people around store and parkinglots, unfortunately the property should be shut down & reconditioned alittle paint and updated furniture would help alot !& security at night.3 buildings with multipal floors and only one working icemachine for hole property was told by manager/owner to not take very much ice ! The machine could not even fill up ice container from room & discusting dirty Beware managment didnt seem to care,to bad property could be really nice with proper managment.

Kind of sketchy, but so close to the college that it's worth it. The water got hot fast and the AC worked great. Security needs some improvement and they need to check in on the appliances.
On the plus side, there was great water pressure and plenty of hot water. When things broke or there were other issues (and there were quite a few), the maintenance guy came right away. Kudos to him.
Minuses: Too many things to list, but here are just a few:
1. The elevator did not work, so we had to hike all our stuff up to the third floor on the stairs.
2. The appliances are badly in need of updates: the lamp switches either were very tricky or did not work at all, so we had to unplug them to turn them off. The shower handle was difficult to turn (we are talking two hands and a towel when hands are wet). The fridge was so exuberant it wouldn't turn off and all our stuff froze (the hard-boiled eggs actually burst). Their solution: "Just turn it off when it gets too cold [and let everything melt and get all soggy and spoil]."
3. The shower drain was clogged with other people's hair which made it difficult to drain until I (yecchhh) pulled it out with my bare hand.
In short, everything that is possible to be run-down is run-down. I stayed at this hotel 20 years ago when it was the Picadilly Inn University, and it was much nicer then; disappointed to see it having become rather a dump. Will not be staying there again.
