"The hotel is really nice ! It is older, but has been well cared for and has some modern updates. The king suite was huge ! Breakfast was pretty good, and there was a large parking lot behind the hotel which was a plus because we had a trailer. I was surprised by the quality for the very reasonable price we paid. "

The location of the hotel is easy to get anywhere you want to visit in Galena, and literally a walk across the parking lot to Happy Joe's or Frank O'Dowds Pub"

"The one thing I will caution future guests about is breakfast. It’s one menu selection (there is no menu to choose from) for everyone every morning. So if you’re a picky eater or have lots of food sensitivities, this could be a real hassle. It is served in your room only, and delivery runs a bit on island time. So if you have timed plans in the morning, make sure to give yourself an extra half hour buffer to account for possible breakfast delays. Other than that, I had an absolutely fabulous stay. The fireplace in the room was my favorite feature. Bed and bedding were like sleeping on a cloud. Book a suite with river view if possible. The view is quite wonderful! I saw the inn keeper every day. He’s very friendly, talks to everyone, and truly wants you to have a wonderful stay. I highly recommend dinner at least once at the restaurant there. The food is exquisite! Keep in mind that lunch and snacks aren’t offered. Bring things from home, there’s a fridge and microwave in every room."
