"Disappointing experience . When I informed reception at 6.15 pm that we had no water for the bath or shower I was told there wasn't any maintenance available . So neither I or my wife could have a shower that evening or the next morning ( today ) . On check out I reminded the manager of this problem , but no redress or discount was offered ; until I asked for a discount . Even then the only discount offered was the removal of the service charge on the evening meal ( as this charge was discretionary I could have refused to pay it anyway ) . When paying £250 per night , the least that can be expected is running water !"

"Exactly what we wanted! A relaxing, comfortable and quiet weekend away with friends. Great wine in the bar while overlooking the spring garden. The bedrooms were perfect. Massive king bed and a good shower. Very quiet in the bedrooms too. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel as well. Everything was cooked to perfection and arrived in a timely manner. We would definitely stay here again. "

"Lovely staff, room cold heater not working, bed lumpy (springs digging into us) used shower few times on last occasion someone come up from downstairs telling us water coming through downstairs, blind broken and not working properly "

"The room was nice and big. The staff were friendly. The location was great, near lots of pubs and restaurants. The pub is good too, with friendly people. Not necessarily suited for young children on friday night as the area is loud until 0030, although it did quieten down once bars were shut. The shower water pressure in the evening seemed a lot lower than the morning."

"A wonderful place to celebrate our birthdays & see in the New Year together. The property was spacious enough for our family of 9, clean, comfortable & beauifully furnished & decorated. The hot tub was an added bonus which we used every day & at night! Stunning location, with amazing views and just a short drive to Battle and Hastings/Bexhill. Great Communication with the host. Would highly recommend. "

"We had a lovely 2 night stay here with friends during October half term. The house is really cosy (so well-insulated), comfortable and well appointed for a group gathering. There are comfy sofas, a large dining table and a well equipped kitchen. We loved the hot tub too and there are several bathrooms, including three en suite, so we never felt on top of each other as a group of 8. Just be aware that the nearby London road can be busy at certain times and rather noisy if windows are open and the only other quibble is that this property only has double beds, not king sized. Otherwise, a fantastically comfortable stay and very well situated for Battle and other nearby attractions. Thank you. "

"The perfect place to relax and unwind, especially if you also have a dog(s). The Stable Block has been renovated to an extremely high standard. The result is a stunning, comfortable, very pretty, relaxing, clean and welcoming holiday home.Plenty of space for one or two families to share with breath taking views across to Hastings on a clear day. Quiet and very beautiful. Masses of fields close by for exercising the pooch(es.)Very well equipped. All the extra touches made such a difference. Dog beds, bowls and towels, dog treats, tissues in the bedrooms and beach towels, an amazing welcome hamper...just to name a few. Comfortable beds with high quality mattresses and pillows and linen.An amazing base to come back to at the end of the day after exploring the Garden of England, oast houses, historic castles and abbeys, antique shops, beaches, battle fields and charismatic eating places...all within easy reach by car.....Or dog walking down to the local pub in the village. Sit by the village green and enjoy dinner and a drink whilst watching the resident geese waddle up and down. Have already recommended to our family and friends and even the odd fellow dog walker!"
