"What a beautiful property with a gorgeous room! We also enjoyed the extra rooms: library, music, etc. They were decorated very nice; we felt like we were staying in a castle! The staff were helpful and professional. The beds were not as comfortable as I would have liked. A perfect place to stay about 10 minutes drive from a park and ride into Edinburgh."

"Fantastic hotel, well manned staff, great facilities, pool was especially nice added comfort (free access to it) made for a fun time. Breakfast is a must, the food was of great quality and plenty of it. Very simple to navigate. The builing being connected to a bar, lounge, spa, Breakfast hall and hotel is simply amazing. Lunch/dinner fantastic, recommend you try the brownies. Building very nice great location not far from shops and activitys, while also being nicely tucked away from the busier side of Edinburgh also close to rail station. Simple bus ride into main Edinburgh, or train makes for a great spot promise you wont regret staying here 10/10 can't wait to stay with your hotel again."

"We really enjoyed our two night stay at Melville Castle.The castle is beautiful and well located for trips into Edinburgh,set in lovely countryside.It is very dog friendly,with a dog friendly area in both the restaurant and breakfast room.We stayed in the two bedroom suite which was perfect for a family stay with lots of space and very comfortable beds as well as being beautifully decorated.An extra bathroom or separate toilet would have made it even better.We would recommend highly!"

"Beautiful room! Right on the bus routes. Only downside is that when arriving you need to call the owner to check in, but being from Canada we didn't have the ability to make local calls and no one replied to us on Expedia chat either. But otherwise and amazing place to stay! "
