Amazing Property

I can't recommend this property enough! We had the best trip. 7 people total - 4 adults and 3 kids (all under 9) and we had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked. The kayaks and paddleboards got used every day and were a nice addition. The outdoor shower was a treat! I had to work a few days while we were there and the wi-fi worked well. Eric and Gina were extremly responsive and made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. All the videos sent before the trip were really beneficial. If you are on the fence, book the trip!

Incredible view!

Property is exactly as advertised. Great view, clean rooms, every kitchen item you could need. A family group of 7 was very comfortable with the 4 bedrooms and common areas. Eric kept in contact to ensure we had everything we needed and Tony (on island) was very helpful. Even though the drive in was a little bumpy, it was very doable each day. The property was very quiet and private but only 15 minutes to restaurants and shopping. And, did I mention the view!

Perfect

This villa felt so homely and had such a lovely soul, we have never felt so comfortable in a rented villa before. The kids loved playing in the calm waters around the villa and there is a really sweet little reef close by with quite a large array of small fish for the kids to snorkel around and look at. The beach is exposed at low tide and makes a lovely seating spot, as does the decking and pier! Sunrises are spectacular from here. The 2 rooms downstairs are on the outside of the property so more suited to older children but the area is very safe so we had no worries about our kids having their own “pad”. We took the free kayaks down to the nearby blue hole and saw sting rays, turtles and masses of fish - definitely worth while on a calm day. We cooked every night in the villa - it’s very well stocked with all the essentials and a few extras. 100% recommended

Overall experience was great! We love the location and privacy. The new water system was a great improvement from our last visit but old airport road has a few more potholes after the storms last year. We used the new bedrooms downstairs and that was a great addition as well!

Nice and quiet. Good snorkeling--especially for children who are learning around coral that just out into water to left of house as you look at the sea. Tony, the caretaker, was terrific!!

Best View

Absolutely beautiful view! Our family of five, we could not have enjoyed our time any better here. The kayaks were a bonus to the unlimited view. The Property Manager was so nice and helpful and ensure our stay was amazing. Total seclusion and safe. It felt like we were on a majestically deserted island by ourselves.

Perfect Place for R&R

This property is far enough from people that you can rest and relax with total privacy. But, you're not far from town if you need supplies. We had an amazing time. The pics of the views from the house were so great, people think they are fake! Comfy beds and the house was stocked with so many swimming and cooking needs. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Perfect Getaway

Aqua Vista exceeded our expectations! It was a perfect home base for us to explore Exuma's beautiful beaches. We enjoyed lounging on the deck, kayaking out to the other islands, and snorkeling along the little reef. Aqua Vista was private without being too secluded and provided the perfect place for us to spend time with each other before our oldest headed off to college. The house was equipped with everything we needed and even a few things we didn't know we needed! There was more than enough space for us and our three teenagers. Tony was super helpful and he is just an awesome person. We're already planning our return!

Paradise

We really enjoyed our stay at Aqua Vista! So relaxing and peaceful. The view is to die for. Warm, crystal clear water to use the kayaks and water toys that are at the house. The house has everything you need and very clean. The property manager Tony was super nice and helpful with anything you ask. Eric, I can’t say enough about! He contacted me before the trip and gave me alot of useful information and when we were at the house we had a kayaking incident and got stranded due to high winds and he was able to find someone to come rescue us. We can’t thank him enough for his great hospitality!! We will definitely be going back to stay at Aqua Vista in the future!!

Amazing view!

The house was the perfect size for our family of 6. The view was amazing. The location was great. My son played in the water all day everyday. The wifi worked great. The appliances were great. There were a few things in the house that were broken. But minor things. Our window in the bedroom would fall out every time the wind picked up. Our bathroom door would lock itself so you couldn't close it all the way. But overall the place was just what we needed and great for the price. Would recommend.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend our vacation. From the breath taking views to the comfort and relaxing amenities of the villa we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you again for taking such a genuinely concerned interest in our experience, with both you and Alex's hospitality we had a spectacular time. With our adventures out and about with the little guy in the mornings we welcomed the relaxation time during "nap time" back at Aqua Vista in the afternoons. It made for a perfectly balanced vacation. We had the opportunity to explore both West and East ends of the Island and discovered the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. And I mean this as both my wife and I are well traveled. All in all we had a great time and are thankful for your hospitality. You have found an absolute dream place in paradise with Aqua Vista. Hope we can return some day to do it all over again.

A week in paradise

Fun and beautiful but a lot of work. The description of property is accurate but the house needs some updating. No dishwasher and none working washer and dryer made for a lot of work. House could use more towels and cleaning supplies. We had to hand wash and air dry dishes and towels daily so it wasn’t as relaxing as wished for. The dock was awesome we spent a lot of time swimming, kayaking and snorkeling the area. Loved the fish fry. Tony was great and responsive. The house is on the other side of island then most attractions so you need a car but is perfect if you just want to get away. The water is perfect and people are friendly and there is a lot to explore so that is what we did. All in all we had a great time and made a ton of memories.

Absolute Paradise & Great Location

I just returned back to the Midwest from Tad's rental in the Exumas. The setting is perfect. I can't imagine a better view. We really enjoyed laying out on the dock during the day and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean at night. We felt very safe at the house and left the doors and windows open the whole time we were there. The location of the house is also great for going into town or exploring the island. It's right outside of George Town and is as close to the middle of the island as possible. Our host, Alex, went above and beyond during our stay. He showed us the island like only a local could do and prepared us an amazing lobster salad for lunch one day, accompanied by pina coladas of course. He recommended some great places to check out and eat, which are detailed below. Peace & Plenty - excellent Mahi Mahi and great atmosphere Chat n Chill - must do pig roast on Sundays plus the beach and bar are awesome Santanas - perfect little beach bar away from it all with amazing views and food We can't wait to go back and explore more of the islands in the Exumas.

Paradise found!

It’s been two weeks since my husband and I spent 7 glorious days at Aqua Vista. We have talked about it every day since we got home: how it was our best vacation ever, how beautiful it was, and how we can’t wait to go back. Tony, the caretaker, was a gem. He met us at the airport, waited while we shopped for groceries, then led us to the house and showed us around. He made sure we had plenty of water all week and was just a phone call away for anything we needed. The roads to get to the house aren’t the best, but it’s worth the rough 10 min drive if you are looking for a little peace and solitude. The house was clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and its just an adorable place. We spent most of our time outside swimming, kayaking, or snorkeling on the nearby rocks. We were surprised to find a reef with tons of fish just next door. Watching the sun set on the deck was a nightly event. It was amazing to feel like we had the world all to ourselves. The one drawback of this place, which is tiny when you consider all the positives, is the house water. As others have mentioned, it is brackish. You can’t drink it and it leaves you feeling sticky. We only noticed an odor on the last day, but Tony showed up to treat it. This place is just an RO system away from being perfect. We wanted to use the boat while we were there, but sadly it was out of commission. Hopefully it can be fixed for our next stay. We will be back!

Great Vacation

We had a great time on the Island of Exuma and really enjoyed the house. We lucked out when the storm Cristobal shifted and went to other direction. We did have to contend with some strong winds during our stay but found that the beach Ocean Bright was pretty protected from the wind and the water was not as choppy and rough as other beaches. This is also referred to as Emerald Bay where Sandals is located. Its a pretty open resort and we were able to just walk right in and view the place. We also rented a boat for a few days from Minns and enjoyed visiting Chat n Chill and the deserted beaches along the harbor. Found tons of sand dollars, starfish and fed the sting rays. For future renters, I would recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle. The road going back to the house is very bumpy and you cannot avoid the pot holes. The construction vehicles for the house next door do not help the road either! The work going on next door is pretty quite for the most part, but it looked like most of the work was going to be outside pretty soon. They brought in a front loader while we were there to begin digging up the ground in front of the house. Work should be completed in a few months so this is just a temporary issue. Pack plenty of bug repellant or the bugs will eat you alive during the warmer months! Food can be pretty costly on the islands so we purchased almost all of our food in the states. We froze what we could, packed everything into a cooler bag and checked it on the plane. When we arrived 9 hours later all of our food was still frozen. Huge savings even if you have to pay $25 to check the cooler bag. If the gas grill does not light, use the matches or a lighter to light the burners. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

The most ideal setting in Exuma

My husband and I, long-time Family Island fans, spent two weeks at beautiful Aqua Vista in April for our 37th anniversary. This house was so ideally situated on a magnificent bay that it was all we could do to leave it occasionally to see other parts of the Island. Aqua Vista is very comfortable, and the pictures very accurately portray this beautiful setting. There are very few homes on this dirt road south of the old airport, and while there is a house being built next door, there is still privacy on the wrap-around deck. Aqua Vista is very well maintained, with probably the best air conditioning system we've seen in our many Family Island rentals. Most of the time you won't need the air conditioning, but on still days, and dawn and dusk, the no-seeums can be a little bothersome. Yay for the air-conditioning! Alex, the property manager, was very prompt in meeting us at the airport and we followed him in our rental car to the villa. I would definitely suggest asking him to stock one 5-gallon water bottle per week (it'll cost $5/bottle) so you have something available immediately. We didn't need to arrange any excursions with Alex, but he made sure we knew he was available at any time to assist us with any requests or problems. And Tad, the owner of this beautiful villa, was always available by email. When the 2-man kayak he ordered to replace one that a previous renter had carelessly lost with the tide didn't arrive in time for our visit, he made sure that an island friend brought one over for us to use. Really above and beyond. The flats in front of Aqua Vista are truly breathtaking. We didn't see many fish in the bay, but my husband took the kayak out to Bonefish Cay and saw hundreds of bonefish and caught a few. Remember, though, that the Island guides make their living by bringing people out to the flats for bonefishing. Make sure you keep your distance from them, it's only fair. We also took the kayak out to one of the nearby cays for snorkeling. We had very good meals at the Palapa Grill at Grand Isle, Santana's, Exuma Yacht Club, Peace and Plenty Lodge, and One 80 at what used to be the Peace and Plenty Bonefish Club. But I can't get the coconut-crusted grouper from Shirley's Fish Fry Shack out of my mind ... Wow what a dish! What a great vacation. Thank you, Tad. I hope we can return someday to your beautiful piece of paradise.

This house is amazing! I have never in my life been in a place that’s so beautiful- you can’t beat the ocean right outside your door. The owners were wonderful and always answered any questions that we had. I would 100% recommend this house to anyone who’s thinking about visiting Exhuma.

It was just as described if not better! We had so much fun and relaxation at Aqua Vista. The only thing that I would change if I could is the access to the house. Be Prepared! I highly recommend a jeep or a vehicle with a higher profile. We had two sedans and although they worked it was difficult and slow every time we left and came back. That being said I would 100% stay again! It had everything you needed including peace and serenity. Communication with the property owner is excellent. They checked in to make sure all was going well. Answered any and ALL questions I had. Can’t speak highly enough about this place!
