Tar Bay's Hidden Treasure! "The place to be"

  • Villa Marjorie is located on Tar Bay at Silver Beach, George Town, Exuma, Bahamas. It has been completely remodeled and updated with brand new sliding doors that were installed in February 2020. She is a two bedroom and two bathroom beach house with central air conditioning, modern kitchen with new stainless steel Whirlpool appliances and granite counter tops, garbage disposal and fresh water filter. The living room and dining area is equipped with a 42 inch flat screen LG TV.

    Each bedroom has a 32 inch flat screen TV and is nicely appointed with dark wood furniture and enjoys incredible views of the sparkling turquoise waters. All rooms lead to the beach by way of their own 8ft. sliding glass doors that open onto a 10ft. by 37ft. covered balcony that is literally a few steps to the water. Villa Marjorie is an 8 minute drive East from George Town International Airport and 12 minutes West of downtown George Town, Exuma

Villa Marjorie is a special place..... Perfect location and perfect accommodations. Everything about the house was comforting and inviting. Such a cozy place. It was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware and the grill was the icing on the cake.... We used the grill almost every day of our week stay... The beds and linens were super comfortable and clean, smelled good. The back porch/deck with an eating table and lounge chairs are a perfect set up, no clutter.... every sliding door has access to the beach with spectacular views. You can lay in bed and watch the Sunrise. easy access to the beach, roughly 30 yards of easy sand. Our host was very quick to respond to the one question that I had about checking in. My only complaint is that we didn't stay long enough... We spent a few days sightseeing and driving around instead of just relaxing at the house.... Hopefully next year we will do 10 days instead of only 7............

You know what it’s like to look at a home & location online, book it, & then hope it’s going to be everything that you were thinking it would be. Villa Marjorie is everything that it is advertised! The home itself is lovely & very well appointed. Beds are super comfortable, we had everything we needed in the kitchen, & it was very warm & inviting.We had plenty of beach towels, floats, beach chairs, & the two kayaks were great fun when the water was calm.The location is exactly what we’ve been looking for & will be returning to over and over. The big porch, facing right out to the water, was AMAZING for coffee in the morning, dinner at night or just to sit and relax & look at that beautiful blue water. It’s almost like having a private beach as there is no public beach access close by so you only have about 12 other rental homes & very few people around. Lots of beautiful beach to walk on & explore.The location is also super convenient, only about 7 miles south of the airport & not far from the Fish Fry, groceries & Georgetown. We found it to be ideal.The communication with our host was exceptional! Always very responsive, brought us anything that we needed, gave advice when we asked for it. I absolutely love good communication! And she checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was going well.If you are looking for a beautiful home, a peaceful & serene location, beautiful water and beaches and not a lot of crowds, then you have found your spot.

This was such a beautiful home. It was perfect for two couples. The location was great for everything we had planned. It is a nice quiet neighborhood which was perfect for relaxing in the evenings. Right on the water, makes you feel like you have your own private beach.

This is our 2nd time staying at Villa Marjorie and it won’t be our last. It’s in a great location and beautiful property. We had a hard time with the tv in the evenings and the beds need some attention but it wouldn’t stop us from going back.

Wow! What a wonderful home, directly on the beach. My husband and I enjoyed our 8th anniversary with a few surprises from Jena. Everything we needed in the kitchen, very comfy beds, and I have to mention the awesome reclining couch. Thank you, Jena, for an unforgettable get away. We will definitely book again.

This property is amazing! It’s a super cute 2 bedroom house right on one of the prettiest beaches. The beautiful back porch runs the entire length of the house and has 4 lounge chairs with comfy cushions and a table with 4 chairs. The house is well maintained with cute decor. Jena the host is very sweet and helpful with any house needs. We truly had an amazing time and look forward to visiting again soon!!

House is as pictured online. We appreciated the beach views from the living atea and bedrooms. Location is close to the airport and convenient for traveling to north or south end of island. There are beach chairs, floaties, and beach toys available.

Lovely View — But Unresolved Issues and Health Concerns

The view from the porch overlooking turquoise waters was beautiful and truly the highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, serious issues with the villa disrupted our stay. A kitchen leak caused black mold, a strong odor, and health symptoms (nausea, headaches, coughing), making the kitchen unusable for much of our two-week trip. We lost groceries and had to change our plans due to the impact on our health.While the host initially agreed to compensate us for part of the stay, we experienced delays and a lack of follow-through. After nearly two months with no resolution, we escalated the matter to VRBO. We’re grateful that a supervisor stepped in, reviewed the case thoroughly, and helped secure reimbursement from the host. VRBO also recognized the health risks we faced and provided additional support. We truly appreciated their involvement and professionalism.Other concerns included sparking outlets, poor cleanliness, mold in vents and cabinets, and misleading listing details. FYI: the villa has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4, not 3 bedrooms/6 guests. Several listed amenities were missing or unsafe (e.g., no visible fire extinguisher, rocky beach access).Though the scenery was stunning, our experience was frustrating and disappointing overall. We're thankful to VRBO for helping make things right and ensuring concerns like ours are taken seriously for future guests.

Beautiful beach

House was in a great location with beautiful beach view. Steps away from water. Although there were neighboring houses, still felt very private as rarely saw anyone out. The house was very comfortable with central air. There were a few close by snorkeling reefs in either direction that had lots of interesting fish. Loved the house and island and would definitely return.
