"When we checked in the power was off. This was not hotels fault but mention it because even with this stressful situation the staff was amazing. The room was clean and beds comfy. They provided extra blankets for my mother-in-law. We did have to ask for addition towels and toilet paper. Also housekeeping should remember to check and refill their shower soaps. I would recommend this hotel for anyone. It was a good price was easy to get on interstate for our excursions."

Riverboat Inn and Suites

"Riverboat Inn & Suites - Outstanding accommodations! We visited Madison, IN for the first time and selected the Riverboat Inn & Suites - so happy we did! It's an historical hotel that was completely renovated about 4 years ago. Everything was renovated with thought, care and creativity! Comfortable beds, healthy continental breakfast with lots of fresh fruit options and a cute swimming pool (which we did not use this rainy weekend). It has a spectacular view of the Ohio River with a large outside veranda. On weekend nights, it offers their guests live entertainment...sit back with your favorite drink from their full bar, relax to the music and just enjoy your surroundings. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The bathroom is not big (remember, it's an historic building), but the shower is hot and strong. If you are looking for a super big room, go somewhere else but if you want a SUPER clean, warm and inviting room with a spectacular view and great amenities, you found your get-away hotel. Madison has much to offer with lots of interesting restaurants, very walkable and has community activities every weekend. We will return!"

"The location on the hill is great as we had a room that looked out over the downtown and hills of KY. We really enjoyed our balcony. The room was clean but the entire hotel is VERY dated. The bed was a 7 out of 10 for comfortability but the pillows were not good. Breakfast was average for continental. Our daughter was not feeling well the morning we were supposed to check out and I asked the lady at the desk in the morning if there was a possibility of having 1 extra hour before check out and she said it wasn't possible. We also had housekeeping knocking on our door at 7:40 a.m. to ask if they could clean our room. It was a mixed bag for us. Love the town of Madison! "

"One night getaway for our anniversary! Check-In process was easy and smooth. Both front desk staff were kind and welcoming.. when they found out it was our anniversary weekend we were surprised with a sweet gift upon returning to our room that evening - we were so surprised and very appreciative of the sweet gesture from the staff! The weather was not ideal for exploring downtown Madison so we decided to hang out at the hotel bar that night - the service, drinks and food were excellent! We had a king room on the top floor and it was very spacious and nice. The only “complaints” I would note would be: the bed was not very soft, shower water did not get very hot, there were some cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom and room, the noise level of others doors shutting in the hallway seemed louder than most places we’ve stayed. However, these things would not deter us from staying here again! Especially a longer stay I would’ve asked about the hot water and a quick dusting of the room. Overall it’s 5 stars and we will return!"

"Fantastic historic place. Comfy bed, lovely clawfoot bath, cheerful kind owner. Nothing super fancy, just a sweet place to stay for a good price with beautiful view of the river in charming town"

Best Way Inn Madison

2/10 Terrible

"Upon entering the room I was hit with the smell of cigarette smoke. The shower rod did not seem to be fitted properly to the shower, leaving a hole in the drywall where the rod did not fit.when leaving to get something from the car, the door handle came off in my hand. I had to turn the knob, then pull open the door using the deadbolt. One of my kids found a vape left behind in the dresser. Staff was quite rude at first, and we initially were told that we would not be able to have our door fixed. I was told that if I chose to leave because I felt unsafe, I would not be refunded my money. The manager also accused me of smoking in the room when I had been out with family for the whole evening. The only positive was that we did not find any bedbugs. Upon looking at other reviews, multiple other people mentioned a similar problem with the door handle coming off."
