"When I booked our room I didn't realize that all the rooms have a kitchenette so upon arrival we were so happy to see our room and its amenities. Not sure if all are similar in size, but it was large - a nice change to the typical smaller hotel rooms. The front desk people were friendly and super helpful. The owner helped us figure out a challenging luggage transfer service that we needed. We are so appreciative of her time in doing so. The location is great. Close to major shrines and the Gion district. We walked everywhere! Thank you West Japan Kyoto Kiyomizu Hotel for a wonderful stay. "

"Clean room. Staff were amazing and spoke English. There was a laundry room but didn’t get to use it and the only con that I had was that I couldn’t really figure out how to get ac only was able to turn the fan on and the window only opened an inch or two. But otherwise an amazing stay especially the pudding downstairs. "

"We loved our stay at Hotel Alza Kyoto. The staff was polite and kind, and helped forward our luggage to our hotel in Tokyo (for a fee). The room was spacious, clean, and the quietest we'd ever stayed in. It's slightly off the beaten path, yet within 3 minutes of the Sanjo JR station, 5 minutes of the Sanjo Keihan subway station, and within walking distance to Nishiki Market. Kiyomizu-dera Temple is about a 30-minute walk, partly uphill. A bus will get you close to Philosopher's Path. The 7-Eleven down the street was great for morning coffee, snacks, and even noodle bowls. Would definitely stay there again."
