This hotel is absolutely amazing. We learned it opened about a month ago. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was spacious for our family of 4 and was so very clean and the decor was inviting. The bathroom is just as amazing. This is a stylish hotel, clean and convenient, with good food. My room had no desk, so it is not convenient for business.

It is in the heart of Gion district. A lot of food options close by. The whole hotel is covered in tatami mat. We needed to take off our shoes at the door. We had a room with a private bathtub. The hottub was super relaxing. All the utilities and skin care products were from good brands. I think this is a really nice luxury hotel for my friend and myself. We love this place!

Property is in nice neighborhood, very close to bus stops/routes (<2 min), directly accessible from Kyoto station. Hotel is near several tourist locations and immediately walkable. Room size is decent with table, with washer but no dryer. Not a lot of drying rack/space though, and there is no external area to dry it outside. Not a lot of utensils/plates, but we made do. Electric locks for main door and room access was somewhat unexpected, not sure if this is the norm nowadays (haven't traveled...

Very large room by Japan standards, and incredibly clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is perfectly central in Gion while being just outside the area of nighttime noise. Perfect stay for the three of us with room to spare in one of their larger rooms.

The spa suite at Hotel Gion Ichirin is such a dream. We loved our room and private spa amenities so much, we barely wanted to leave the hotel. It was walking distance to restaurants, shopping and attractions like Yasaka Shrine. The staff was kind and it felt like we were the only guests there because it was so quiet and we didn’t bump into other guests. It was convenient they had a free washer/dryer machine and I loved getting the matcha latte from the coffee machine in the lobby.

Artisinal authentic Japanese ryokan with superb yuzu themed food! Central location and lovely well-maintained property! Warm hospitality! Check dinner times since we almost missed ours..
