Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto

10/10 Excellent

"Great stay"

APA Hotel Kyoto Gion EXCELLENT

8/10 Good

"Comfortable bed. Clean room. You have to step up into the bathroom and down to get out which could be a problem if you have knee issues. Location is good. Breakfast was priced high for the selection. We didn’t take it for the second morning. We were able to sleep with our window open which was good because we did not have control of the AC, and it cooled down enough at night that the outside air came in."

Hiyori Residence Kyoto Kamogawa

10/10 Excellent

"We booked a four bed room and it was the largest we had in all our travels. Two full beds and two twin bunks over them. This left room for a couch and table - which made relaxing and sharing time with the family enjoyable. It had laundry in room - which was very useful. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is along the river and between two metro stops - four minute walk to either. We could walk to some shrines and areas of attraction (20 minutes) and easily got around to everything we wanted to see in Kyoto using metro and bus. It is located in a quiet neighborhood which we loved. Highly recommend."

The Westin Miyako Kyoto

8/10 Good

"Our issue was very specific and might not affect most. There were limited gluten free options in the restaurants for lunch and dinner. Although you can convince a chef in other places to grill fish or steak easily, it was not an option here, at least in the common restaurant. Breakfast was better. They had gluten free bread and many options. Also, all restaurants (there are two other special ones) close rather early. But other than these (which might not be a big issue for most) a really good hotel. Fantastic staff."
