"Very helpful and pleasant owners who went over and above to help with securing elusive taxis to the ferry terminal.
The room was clean and comfortable and the shower was great.

"This is a fantastic example of faded glory. It's a brilliant hotel, with great staff and all the facilities I wanted, as well as an excellent location for exploring Dumfries and Galloway.
If you're looking for a shiny modern finish that costs the earth then this isn't for you. But if you value service, atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food I can highly recommend it."
