Goree island, Senegal.

From the 15th to the 19th century, it was the largest slave-trading centre on the African coast. Ruled in succession by the Portuguese, Dutch, English and French, its architecture is characterized by the contrast between the grim slave-quarters and the elegant houses of the slave traders. Today it continues to serve as a reminder of human exploitation and as a sanctuary for reconciliation.

"La estancia estuvo muy bien. Sobretodo el trato de la gente encarga de la casa, Matar y compañía siempre muy Antenores. El punto negativo es que la parcela es compartida con otros huéspedes y eso no nos lo dijeron, ni aparecía por ningún sitios. "Appartement pas prêt à notre arrivée, pas nettoyé, linge de maison utilisé, cuisine rempli de cafards. Les cafards se promènent aussi abondamment dans les couloirs et salle à manger. Réfrigérateur dans un état lamentable. Si vous êtes allergiques à la poussière, évitez, quoique la pharmacie très proche est ouverte jusqu’à 22h00 et vend de la ventoline sans ordonnances. Expérience désolante pour la propreté et pour le prix et de bien meilleur appartement ailleurs. "
