"We had a wonderful time at Ouvane Falls. We had 2 teenagers with us and they had no complaints. The rooms were above the pub but surprisingly quiet. Room was simple- 1 double bed and 2 singles in one space. We had no issues. The carpet is a bit worn, it is not a fancy place but it worked very well for our travel plans. One note, there is a staircase to get to the rooms. Great view and seating out the back of the pub.

Romantic Castle at Roaring Water Bay in West Cork - Weekend special available
10/10 Excellent
"Our family of three (two adults and a 17 year old) history buffs were so excited to have the opportunity to stay in this castle. Stephanie was very clear that she had been very intentional about how she restored the castle and it was exactly as described. The outside and parts of the inside were restored but not updated so that we could really immerse ourselves in the history and truly feel the lives of the people who had lived there. When we were in need of a more modern break and some creature comforts, we escaped to the top floor where we lounged in the sunshine and the beautiful view. Thank you Stephanie for preserving this precious piece of history and for sharing it with us. Some advice is to bring your own pillow and blanket if you will be sleeping anywhere but on the top floor if you have any allergies. The castle is by its nature, damp and I'm sure it's impossible to keep the linens fresh especially in the rainy spring when we visited. Also bring some sturdy soled slippers/inside shoes for navigating the stairs. "
"Room was reasonably quiet, comfortable.
Breakfast cooked element was good. Had avocado toast.
Staff were mostly pleasant and accommodating apart from one or two staff members who could smile and interact with the guests. "
Cosy south facing sunny cottage Ballylickey, Bantry - on the Wild Atlantic Way
8/10 Good
"My girlfriend and I made plans to get married in Ireland in March 2026. After a lot of research we decided this cottage which was perfect for our two week stay. It perfectly located for purposes in Bantry for shopping, dining, etc.. Typically most Americans do not appreciate "strangers" approaching the temporary rented vacation home, but Jack (part owner) was very kind and a great part of our trip (we even fed his cat).. The layout was cozy and typical of Europe. Everything worked fine except towards the end of our stay the water in the downstairs bathroom scalded my wife TWICE without touching the heat controls. The upstairs bath had very low hot water pressure (not good for washing hair).. The fire place was a nice touch being lit when we arrived. Only a few neighbors, and nice and quiet. Loved the livestock grazing nearby, lovely vegetation and plenty of literature for exploring. We would definitely visit again as long as the water situation was addressed. You really can't beat the price, people and safe location."

We ate dinner in the pub, food was really good and regulars were eating and celebrating birthdays, so you felt warm and welcomed. We also managed to book a night where there was a dance- we watched some amazing Irish dancing! Breakfast was just us, and delicious. There wasn't a menu- we had a few cold items and traditional Irish scrambled eggs and toast, which was just perfect. For our family, a great stay and great memories. "
