"The apartment hotel is a new building in a suburban residential area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant called Brothers nearby which serves gyros and other Greek meals and is frequented by locals. There is a mini mart and a couple of bakeries as well on the same street. There is ample street parking so it is a good location for those renting vehicles to explore Crete. We visited Knossos and Matala Beach but did not have time to visit the Old Town of Heraklion. "An exquisitely designed property in a charming town, near Heraklion. Although it's no fault of the hotel, GPS programs insist on directing you on tiny, steep lanes to bring you to and take you from the property. Highly recommended to not rely on GPS apps. This offers small town flavor near to Heraklion with plenty of tourist sites nearby, including Knossos. Breakfast was great. We had a few pre-season hiccups which the staff endeavored to solve. "We really enjoyed our stay at these amazing apartments with a beautiful view over the sea and right in the centre of the gorgeous village of Sissi. The proprietor was very helpful and nice, happy to give advice on places to visit. She also booked our taxi from the airport and was ready to move us to a downstairs flat because I was walking in crutches. The pool is also a bonus and the apartment complex has a beautiful architecture and is well kept. What a gem!"

The one issue was Crete was much larger than we expected and property is located in the middle of the island. We were not able to explore as much as we wanted due to our time constraints. The property located on a closed military establishment with homes interspersed and restaurants along the coast. Washer worked great tho instructions were in Greek and took much longer to do a load than expected....
