"Clean"

"Our host was really helpful and made things super easy. We were just passing through for work and typically sat in a hotel room but there were just no good choices in Manchester, IA so we found this lovely place on the lake. It was very clean , quiet and comfortable. The bed I slept in was in the master and it was really comfortable!! I would definitely stay here again! Very nice place with a nice view on the lake!!"

"In town for my son’s baseball tournament. Hotel was clean, bed was comfy but at 5’5”, I found it somewhat difficult to get into such a tall bed. It was very comfortable, but I hated how awkward it was to literally climb into the bed. Only truly disappointing aspect though was no pool. It was a long, hot weekend and while us parents were wiped at the end of the day, the boys were looking for refreshing pool time, which meant more travel time for us to meet up at others who’s hotel did have the pool. "

"The Firefly Cottage was very well appointed with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We had plenty of dishes, pots/pans, glasses, eating and cooking utensils. The beds were comfortable and lots of clean towels in kitchen and bath; plenty of TP, kleenex, salt and pepper, and a few other kitchen items to use. There were 3 TV's! We did have difficulty getting the sound loud enough on the TV, couldn't figure it out. We could have called owner and I'm sure they would have helped us, but we chose not to call and used close captions. All in all, a great stay and would not hesitate to tell anyone to stay there. Beautiful area with lots to do."

"We could not have asked for a better place, very comfortable, spacious, a very welcoming host (even invited us to dinner at his son’s restaurant), but the best part was an amazing property. If you love old farm houses this as good as it gets!We did the Driftless 100 in Elkader and stayed 2 nights maximizing everything from the modern kitchen to the comfy living room & beds to a perfectly placed fire pit to watch the sunset and sip bourbon after the race.
