The Rock Engraving Park is a unique combination of the archaeological, architectural, historical and even landscape patrimony of various ages of the Valtellina. The Park was founded in 1978 to conserve, study and develop the Cultural Heritage on the Castle Hill (Dosso dei Castelli). Next to the two castles, the Castello Vecchio (Old Castle) from the 10th-11th century and the Castello Nuovo (New Castle) from the 14th century, even a system of dry-stone terraces, how it is typically for the Valtellina, is surrounding the Castle Hill. But special and singular is the Rupe Magna, a large rock which contains more than 5.000 engraved figures from the 4th to the 1st millennium B.C.

"This is an amazing property with very courteous staff Stayed for one night in a balcony room with lake view. It was superb and the room was significantly big by European standards. The bathroom as luxurious too. Pickup and drop at the station was prompt and proactive. Hotel is located right on the shopping street which as very convenient. Breakfast was good. Very close to the lake and suited our long walks. All in all we had a great stay before boarding the Bernina Express. Would like to come back and stay again for sure . "

"An absolutely fantastic stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is done so nicely! The eay it has been designed is tasteful and shows the heritage of the place! The rooms were clean, spacious and for the price a real bargain! The view of the mountains from the balcony was stunning. Shower was amazing! Breakfast was included and fantastic. They have their own juicer with fresh fruit and veg to make your own! A small allergy option if you ask for it, gluten free people are covered! And a big selection of meats and pastries aswell as hot food. Such an awesome hidden gem in Tirano, highly recommended. I hope to come back some point soon!"
