Great cabin! Clean and comfortable beds. Really enjoyed our stay. Cute town. We spent our 4 days in YNP. It was about an hour and 1/2 drive to the heart of the park. We didn’t mind the drive as we woke up early to get into the park. Most nights we ate at the cabin. The only down fall was no mixing bowls or bowls to make a big salad. So clean but limited kitchen items. We made it work. We loved the chickens.
Amazing find. The cabin is updated and well taken care of. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They freshen up the room everyday and provided us with breakfast items. If I ever go back to Yosemite I will definitely stay at Basecamp again. Five stars all around!
This place was absolutley immaculate! Bedding was so very comfortable. Nice touches like fresh banannas, orange juice, oat milk, granola, ice cream bars, pop corn, ect....we stayed in Hikers Cabin 1900 ponerosa lane. Beautiful patio, balcony, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom. The cabin was sparkling clean and so comfortable! My husband and i were so very pleased!
Make sure you do the pre check in prior to arriving to town. It has to be done online and connectivity is limited. If arriving at night this place can be hard to find and the map provided during check in process was not great. Our cabin code didn't work when we arrived. Luckily we ran into someone that helped us but could have been a real issue. Breakfast delivery for our second morning was weird. They said they tried delivering and we didn't answer the door. We never heard anything and they didn't make any attempt to contact us by other means. It required several calls to confirm delivery. Cabin we stayed in was cute and helped create a unique Yosemite experience. Our second day it rained a lot and it was nice to have the extra space and games to relax with the family while stuck mostly indoors.
My family of 4 loves road trips, this time we had an epic one and thankfully The Hiker’s Cabin at Yosemite Base camp was exactly what we needed on this led of the trip. Our plan to hit all the major viewpoints throughout Yosemite over 2 and a half days was greatly helped by the space and amenities in this great little cabin.
The most important things were clean comfy beds for all, and a full working kitchen to prepare our meals for the days ahead. A 4 burner gas stove, full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, ample counter space for storage/prep, and all the pots/pans/utensils you need for most meals. There was a nice grill on the porch, but we didn’t make use of it.
A/C worked great, ceiling fans (it was surprisingly warm in late September).
A really nice touch was the granola and oat there for us, and some fruit as well as granola bars to take with us. Someone came during the day and replenished the stock of those items as well as freshen up the bedding, etc for our 3 night stay.
They also had large stainless canteens in the cabinet that we packed out full and used constantly on our hikes/journeys. This was an underrated but HUGE amenity for us!
I’m sure I am missing some details, but the most important part is that I would definitely stay again.
Thank you Yosemite Basecamp!
Clean, cute and convenient place. The host messaged us during our stay to see if we needed anything. The proximity to Tesla superchargers was an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved staying here, it was immaculate and a great size. We got complimentary orange juice, granola, milk, coffee. Really lovely interiors, helpful staff and Groveland was a really quaint American town.
Beautiful loft, spacious and cozy. The breakfast/coffee bar so a great touch. All soaps and shampoos/conditioners are natural and eco friendly. Will definitely be staying here again in the future. 10/10 would recommend.
The loft was perfect for our visit. It was spacious & cozy, had wonderful staff, nearby restaurants, and a short drive into Yosemite. The breakfast items provided gave us a great start to our day & the bath products gave us a relaxing soak after a day of hiking. There were plenty of TV channels & a nook with books and board games. Truly a hidden gem!
The property is perfect and the price is very reasonable, especially cheap if you'd stay with four or six people. I hated that after booking and paying I get an email with instructions on checking in: uploading a copy of my drivers license, then filling in name and address and stuff too (like that's not on the drivers license) to get door code which did not work.

Disliked: Staff & service
Very unfortunate and bad experience at this property.
No matter the situation / issue at hand - the way the lady at reception reacted to the whole situation was nothing short of nasty and offensive.
Pls don’t book , if you have kids - as they write it in fine print and then blame you for not reading lengthy emails.
The resolutions for “flouting” such an important rule was give me 100 $ per night OR get out of my property. So basically if one can extort money , then rules are bendable ! WOW , so much for rules !
Pls do yourself a favor and stay at the property next door with a lovely restaurant . This place could be good - but bad behavior on a vacation is NEVER WORTH the hassle !
