The beauty and charm of this cottage has to be experienced to truly be appreciated.

-Fully self contained handcrafted stone cottage
-Accommodating up to 4 people
-2 bedrooms each with queen beds with electric blankets (linen/towels supplied).
**If 2 people staying and want separate bedrooms additional bedroom rate applies (contact/message owner if extra room is required)
-2 person spa (shower over) - hygienically cleaned with spa.giene.
-Private undercover outdoor BBQ area
-Ample parking including undercover
-Stunning views
-Set on 3/4 of an acre with terraced gardens
-No smoking
-Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.

-Pleasant short walk to general store/café, hotel/pub, sports ground, kids area, tennis courts and netball rings.
-Only 10 minute drive from Castlemaine, 20/25 minutes Daylesford/Hepburn and 1.5 hours from Melbourne.
- Minimum 2 night stay.
- Minimum 3 night stay for long weekends, 4 night stay for Easter, 5 nights for school holidays and Christmas/New Year from December 17th to February 2nd 2026 and minimum stay may apply for other peak periods.
(Special offers may not be available long weekends or peak periods, unless specified).
- Check in strictly from 3pm and check out 10am (unless by prior arrangement, additional charge).
-Please note that our rate is only $225 per night the additional charges are from VRBO (this rate is for 1 or 2 guests and 1 bedroom, the 2nd bedroom or 3rd & 4th guest additional).
- Children UNDER the age of 2 years may stay in bedroom with parents without extra charge (must inform us there is a child staying), over this age the second bedroom is required.

- Full terms and conditions are available at the Cottage and on website.
- Any amounts charged from the refundable damage deposit money may incur a merchant fee, this fee is a VRBO fee (Unfortunately this cannot be absorbed by the owner).

Marvellous stay

Beautiful house and grounds with stunning views. The property is comfortable and cosy and is very well maintained and well-equipped. Lovely local area with great local pub within a 5 minute walk.

Great short stay

Excellent Property

We had a most enjoyable stay in the Hawthorn Cottage. Excellent facilities with a great view of the surrounding area. Would recommend it to anybody wanting to visit this interesting part of Victoria.

Lovely little cottage

From the moment we arrived to the warm fire already burning we enjoyed a peaceful relaxing holiday. Great part of Victoria for sightseeing, exploring and shopping.

Lovely cottage and grounds

Loved the cottage and grounds, in a very quiet location. Spending the afternoon under the grapevine covered pergola was just perfect! Short walk to the Guildford Hotel and General store means you don't need to drive anywhere (Castlemaine and Daylesford are just a short drive away if you feel the need). Loved being away from the crowds of Dayelsford. Our host was always extremely prompt answering any queries. We will definitely be back.

Magnificent in so many ways!

The property is stunning, perched on a hill with a gorgeous vista. We fell in love immediately! Everything was as listed, with so much attention to detail - the house was sparkling clean and gardens immaculate. We especially loved the small touches like a full litre of milk provided (my mum loves many many cups of tea!), the bubble bath for the spa, and the fully equipped and meticulously clean BBQ. It was an easy walk down to the general store and pub (exceptional service and food, be sure to book!). Our family would love to come back to stay again! Thank you Janelle!

Perfect escape

The cottage is lovely, well fitted out and spotlessly clean, with everything needed but no clutter. An amazing view, facing east for morning sun but a lovely shaded back pergola if it gets warm in the afternoon. Gardens are beautiful for walking around in. Easy walk to the general store (coffee and light meals) or the pub for drinks/dinner. Easy and picturesque drive into Castlemaine, so plenty to do nearby. Only thing to be wary of is if you had mobility issues, there are large steps inside the cottage and the shower over spa would be difficult to negotiate - not a criticism but maybe important to know for some guests. We had a wonderful stay and would easily come again.

Cosy Cottage

Arrived in the dark~such a clear view of the stars~and awoke to the most beautiful sunrise! The property is gorgeous and so clean, I can tell this cottage was built with love. Close enough to everything yet far enough away. We wandered down to the general store for breakfast and it was lovely sitting under the big tree with a delicious breakfast and coffee. We would not bother looking for anything else if we stay out that way again, everything was perfect. Thank you so much!
