A great location, quiet yet still walking distance to the Centre of town, clean, friendly, charming house with spacious bedroom and comfortable bed. We were on the top floor with a beautiful big window. Lots of great natural light. Breakfast was convenient and delicious in the charming dining room. Staff was cheerful and helpful. A very lovely spot.

A great experience - affordable, pleasant hotel situated just outside the city. Simple but pleasant room, great breakfast, charming building and quiet neighborhood, and very convenient to the city attractions. Would highly recommend to others looking for a pleasant place to stay in York.

Nice cosy room close to the center of York. Fantastic and helpful staff and the breakfast is well presented and keeps the B&B family atmosphere!

hotel/bed and breakfast has nice friendly atmosphere, excellent breakfast, and is in walking distance of old town York. Only issue is limited parking in back, but they managed somehow by having cars that were leaving earlier closest to exit path. Helpful with things like where to get laundry done, where to go for meals, and unusual sites in old town that we would have never thought of. Will definitely stay there again.

We had a very pleasant stay at Sycamore House. It's easy to find and less than a 10 minute walk from the train station. The hosts are very friendly and personable. The room we stayed in was clean, comfy and it was great having wifi and a private bathroom. Breakfast was served, and the hosts provided delicious food and drinks for the meal. The only negative thing we can say is the shower size is a bit smaller than we are used to, but that seems to be "normal" in England.

Everything from beginning to end was perfect..The host was friendly and educted. And paid great attention to detail....plus the a free sherry in the room was just the icing on the cake .I would atay here again and again.

What a fun magic themed hotel. Perfectly located. The bathrooms were excellent and the shower pressure was great. If you have trouble with stairs, make sure to get a first floor room. We loved it.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel. Clean, cozy and thw bed is so comfortable. Definitely will be back here on my next trip to Harrogate.

The managers, Andy and Katie, were unbelievably friendly and helpful -- to the point that they not only made us feel at home, but made us feel a bit like they were letting us walk all over them. They bent over backwards to help us from meeting us later normal check-in (cheerfully and without complaint), to offering (and then providing) us a ride across town when we asked about getting a taxi (it was on their way home), to cheering our young son with a lolly pop when he was being a grouch -- and...

Everything was great. The hostess was very helpful and the distance to the city center was perfect.
