The Knoll House
8/10 Good
"If you don’t pay for the hotel directly you have to pay £10 per person per day to use the pool. This adds up for a family. We went for the weekend but check in wasn’t until 4pm and so we had an hour in the pool after 4pm and check out was at 11am on the Sunday, but when we tried to pay on the Sunday we were told that the hotel was at capacity and couldn’t purchase any use of the pool. There was no use booking a hotel with a pool we couldn’t use. They allowed glass by the pool and my grandson managed to cut himself on someone’s broken glass during the one hour we were there. The pool is lovely so it was v disappointing not to use it"

Hampton by Hilton Bournemouth
8/10 Good
"The room was a good size and very clean. There was no hairdryer but luckily I had packed my own. I slept very well and it generally was a quiet relaxing place to be."

Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"Staff very helpful, friendly and approachable. Room was reasonably comfortable and tucked away in a quiet corner on the ground floor. Beds very clean and comfortable. Room was clean, roomy and stocked with tea and coffee. Bathroom was clean, spacy and had a small amount of shower gel, soap and 2 in 1 shampoo & conditioner. Bathroom required a touch of maintenance with the bathroom door scraping the floor on opening & closing it. Shower was reasonably powerful. A nice bar and lots of seating. Restaurant food was good quality with some nice options. Breakfast good with the normal options of full breakfast, cereal, yogurts, toast and pastries."

Laguna Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The property was really very nice. The rooms and bathroom were clean and the staff members were very friendly. Highly recommended"

Brooklands Hotel
8/10 Good
"This old school B&B type hotel (without the Breakfast!) was adequate for our needs. The owners / staff were friendly and helpful. The parking was good they advised us on where to park in the car park. There’s not many places that still require a copy of your driving licence or passport for ID purposes but this is one of them. Luckily I had this available but it was not made clear beforehand. The bathroom was small and shower not the best, but adequate for a couple of nights. The room was a bit dusty, I don’t think the cleaner had done a great job. Beware of heart attack hill close by. It’s steep coming back from the town. I would advise getting a taxi if you can’t walk far or have had one too many shandies in Wetherspoons. There’s a pub (The Hop Inn) and shop around the corner, also a chippy. Nice Italian across the road. You can get to the beach by walking past the pub and then turn at the end. Left towards the pier or right to a less steep zig zig walk down to the beach."

The Durley Dean Hotel
8/10 Good
"The stay at Durley was fine . It would be great if you could have more parking space for the cars. The rooms were very comfy and the air con was a plus."

Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic location with great views out over the beaches. Close amenities such as restaurants, shops, beach etc. Outdoor pool is lovely again with views out to see. Delicious breakfast with good selection of food. Helpful staff. Limited parking but does have EV chargers. Highly recommended"

THE NICI Bournemouth
8/10 Good
"Hotel is a little tired. The lifts are antiquated and are frankly not suitable for a hotel like this. The main disappointment was the lack of parking space. In a party of six people with three cars only one off us managed to park at the hotel for the overpriced sum of £27 per night. There was no help available from the reception area as to where alternative parking was to be found. Food is average to be honest and the wine is overpriced. If I had to sum the Nici up I would say it is an aspirational in the sense that it aspires to be more than it actually is but is struggling in its current state to get there. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the staff were in the main very good."

Harbour Heights Hotel
8/10 Good
"We stayed in the old honeymoon suite by chance, as we booked a dog friendly room and on checking before travel there weren’t any available- so they allowed us this room as we’d paid ahead! Beautiful views of the sea and over the terraces of the hotel. The room itself, including the bathroom, as with most of the hotel, was very dated. The carpet was quite marked and 2 simple tub chairs were for ‘lounging’ in. Appreciated the aircon! The evening meal first 2 courses were excellent. Unfortunately we didn’t receive our desserts ordered so gave up and went to bed. There was no Sauvignon Blanc or Rose wines available (a change of bar manager that week apparently). A substitute bottle not listed was found - and we were charged £10 more than the most expensive one showing on the drinks menu ! Not what we’ve experienced anywhere else. After 2 discussions £5 reduction was given on our overall bill on checkout. Nb. Travelling with the dog means you get to have breakfast in the Loune area just aside from the main restaurant. It’s a bonus- lovely views of the sea!"
