"We had a fantastic time staying at the house! It is definitely off the beaten path if you’re looking to get out of the touristy area. But still have easy access to all the beautiful beaches. I highly recommend it!!! Paul the manager was fantastic. He assisted us with all of our needs and gave us great recommendations. I highly recommend having a 4 x 4 to get to this property We would definitely stay here again!!! Thank you Paul!!! "

"Beautiful views of salt pond bay from cabana. Be prepared for lots of stairs, it felt like about 200 to the restaurant from our upper cabin. The bay is walkable from the cabins but again all of the stairs plus a hike through the woods. It is very rustic here so be prepared for camping. Our cabin was open to the back deck and only had a mosquito nest pinned down to keep bugs out. We also slept with the netting over the bed. We traveled in late April and days were already hot ( upper 80’s) but luckily had a box fan in room to help at night. There is filtered drinking water down by the office/ restaurant. The island and beaches are very beautiful here so we will definitely be back. Bring a combination or keyed lock if you want to lock your cabin and gear."

"The Bali-flavored wood-carving esthetic and extremely thoughtful airflow design resulted in a relaxing, joyous, and restorative week for our first visit to St. John.Perhaps we were lucky that the prevailing winds from the East at 10-15 mph kept any and all bugs away, but also provided pleasing breezes both on the upper and lower porches and throughout the upstairs living space.We loved the beautiful gardens, Bali wood-carvings, quality tile flooring, solid window and door hardware, mood lighting, safety motion-sensor lighting for the stairs, and of course the incredible location and views of the St. John east end, BVI, and many other islands.We loved the well-appointed kitchen with excellent quality UV-filtered tap water. We grilled fresh fish that Ali at Calabash seasoned for us. Salt Pond Bay was only a few minutes away for great snorkeling, 4-wheel drive to nearby Lameshur Bays for more great wildlife and snorkeling.We experienced an earthquake at 2:58am May 4th - on our anniversary! (no damage). The solar battery backup system was needed to keep the fridge, some lights, and water running during island-wide rolling zone-scheduled power outages.The downstairs bathroom lighting could use improvement, and a mirror over the sink. The road to the house needs some smoothing - we really bounced around in our (necessary) jeep getting to and from the property."

"We visited St John with our daughter and teen age grandsons. Long Bay Getaway was perfect! We love the quieter east end. We enjoy the wildlife both in and out of the water, and this house provides easy access to both, as well as wonderful beaches. The house has 2 bedrooms downstairs, each complete with full bathrooms. Shower and also tub in the master bedroom. There is a large screened area on this level and the pool is adjacent. The upstairs has a full kitchen, half bath and nice size living area with pull out couch. There is also a 2 sided covered deck with gorgeous views.There is an outside shower as well that was great!We loved the pool and enjoyed the beautiful view from there. The community beach is close enough to walk to. We enjoyed early morning snorkeling and evening walks. Hansen bay beach is also super close and our favorite beach.Clean, comfortable and great communication with owner and manager Jeremy. Already booked for the next trip!"
