The home was beautiful, very comfortable living spaces, well stocked kitchen, and amazing sunset views! We definitely recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in a small town with a local restaurant and grocery store just down the road, with easy access to ferries to take you to Cape Lookout and Shackleford Island for shelling!
We could not have been more impressed with this home and the neighborhood on Harkers Island! Everything about it was comfortable and we had all we needed. The spaces provided plenty of room for games and relaxation both inside and outside. We also enjoyed fishing and boating from the shared marina. We will return!
I would recommend this property to anyone. The location was outstanding , very centralized. The home itself was extremely clean. Had everything you needed in i. It had both a covered porch and a screened in dining area. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of pillows and blankets, and the kitchen was stocked with needed spices and lots of pots and pans for cooking. The area was a very, very peaceful. If you’re looking for nearly perfect, this would be the place to stay.

We had a lovely stay
We had a wonderful stay at this tastefully appointed home! The house had everything we were looking for. The bed was comfortable, the shower had nice water pressure, the kitchen was well-stocked with quality pots/pans and knives. But most of all, the view was spectacular. We enjoyed watching the boats go by, the birds in the marsh area and the sunsets are amazing! The house was extremely clean and the hosts were a pleasure to work with and always responded to any questions we had. We have owned a vacation rental and stay in vacation rental homes when we travel. This home is at the top of the list for comfort and communication. We will definitely return. Harkers Island is a special place and this home makes it even more so.

Great stay!
What a perfect vacation home for a group of fishing buddies new to the area. I’ll start with the driveway as it had plenty of room for our trucks including one boat and a couple of kayak trailers. Underneath the house was great for cleaning gear at days end. The nearby ramp was close and had a couple cleaning stations for a days catch but we chose to use the pubic boat ramp just a short jog over the bridge. The main floor had plenty of room for the evening social gatherings where we cooked fresh caught fish and shrimp daily while enjoying ball games most every night. The kitchen was perfect for those who enjoy cooking and the layout allows for several to be a part of the preparation of a big meal. Plenty of individual bed space for our group of six and did I mention how neat and clean the place was upon our arrival? This was probably my first ever vacation checkin where the thermostat never crossed my mind while settling in for a long weeks stay. We did have a warm first night and adjustments were made promptly when we contacted our host. They responded immediately with answers to a couple questions we had while staying and answered with solutions to make our visit one worth repeating. If you enjoy fishing it’s a great central location giving you several areas to venture to in multiple directions. Each of the guys in the group complimented on the place on how great it was at weeks end and that was huge as we’ve been staying in Pirates Cove for over fifteen years and were nervous about the change. We will be visiting again next year with hopes of staying here once our plans are finalized. Thanks again to the host for all they did to make our stay a “feels just like home” guys trip!
The host was a pleasure to deal with. Reached out to us before during and after our stay to make sure everything was okay. We arrived a little early on day 1 and it was no problem getting into the house.
This house was the nicest beach house I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in a lot of them, it was so peaceful, private & meticulous. The neighborhood was just as lovely. The owners are equally just as nice

Perfect house!
Everything about our stay in this house was perfection. The house itself combines an upscale feel with absolute comfort and all modern amenities. No one wanted to leave!I loved the beach house feel with the cottage touch and we marveled over it all week. The beds are amazing, the kitchen is perfection. There are extra blankets everywhere to curl up under. Every chaise has an end table and coasters readily available for morning coffee relaxation. There is nothing to change about this house 10/10!!
This home far exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully decorated without feeling cluttered. SO CLEAN - cleanest rental we've experienced. And that view... spectacular! We enjoyed watching the boats, birds, and sunsets from the many vantage points at the back of the home. The beds were so comfortable and we slept fabulously until our alarm (read: toddler) woke us.It is easy to find, close to some small stores for essentials, and had great parking for our vehicles and boat. By boat we easily made it to some of the little islands such as Shackleford Banks where we saw the Banker Horses and found an amazing haul of shells. Also, the home is less than 10 minutes from the Cape Lookout ferry. We would stay again without hesitation. It is a fabulous property.
We booked this beautiful home on the marsh of Harkers Island. The home is not only well stocked but decorated magazine worthy in coastal blues and rattan. Bedrooms have ceiling fans, laundry baskets, noise machines, and clocks where you can plug in phone chargers. Extra details were sprinkled throughout the house. The view from the deck was so serene. All 6 of us including my teens gravitated to the porch to eat breakfast and then watch the gorgeous sunsets. The house is also a short distance from the ferry to Cape Lookout where we enjoyed a lovely day on the beach with only a few other families. The hubby & I loved riding the bikes in the evening as we explored the island. Also, there’s a boat ramp in the neighborhood.
