"Ann and Colin were perfect hosts. So warm and friendly and even left a welcome basket full of thoughtful treats. Flat is so much better than the pictures portray. Spacious and equipped with everything you need for a stay in the area. Highly recommend. Very convenient for all the new forest walks. The grounds are delightful and the garden is stunning. Nice little area to sit and enjoy the sun. Although the flat is joined to the flat we felt we had privacy. Thanks again for a lovely stay....

"Lovely apartment, very spacious, clean and everything you need. Plenty of quality towels and the kitchen has everything. Parking was excellent. A great pub near by and excellent Italian restaurants also. The town is small but has supermarkets nearby in a short walking distance"

We particularly loved the effort Carol has put into helping guests get out and explore the stunning local area with even small laminated cards with walking suggestions! "We found Riverside Lodge delightful, inside and out. Very peaceful and a pretty setting, with constant birdsong, visiting ducks, scampering squirrels, wandering deer and an evening flyby from a kingfisher. We went out less than we normally would because it was a treat to be lazy there, especially as we’d splashed out on the hot tub. Beds were very comfortable and full marks for having curtains rather than the blinds 90% of holiday lets have, which do nothing to block out light for people who...

"The initial booking was a torturous affair on “Vrbo. The most objectional thing is I was required to give my passport details to “Superhog”, (required by the owners). I am very uncomfortable about that as for all I know, it has been cloned and is now in circulation somewhere in the world. At first, we were unable to locate the correct key safe as video sent to us demonstrated the key being retrieved from a different model. We finally retrieved the keys. As it was raining, we were rather wet....

"Cute property, great layout for 2 people, very quiet. It is a bit out of the center of things. Not a big deal in good weather but when pouring rain at night it is a slog. Groceries nearby, super friendly pub next door - but you don’t hear it in the flat. Motion detector lights out front go out very fast and the place could use a bit of refurbishing. But overall a pleasant stay!"
