The host, Chris, greeted us and gave us grneral information about the place. The roomwas spacious, recently renovated. Chris said there are plans to renovate the rooms on the first floor and then serve food in the pub on the first floor.
Those with mobility challenges might find it hard to climb up and down the narrow
staircase.
The windows open, which is nice for fresh air, but we had to prop it open to keep the sash up.
There was karaoke in the bar, which some might enjoy hearing, others...

The Hotel surrounded by green fields, very relaxing.
Room was small but it had everything we needed for a few days away.
Bar below wasn't open.
We used the pool and the spa, and had a massage while we were there, it was lovely.

Only spent one night but a good stay. Staff very nice. Even participated in a pub quiz night. Loved the fact that a bar and restaurant on site. Plenty of parking.

This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August.

Right in the middle of town. Walkable to everywhere you need to go. Staff were very friendly. Room was basic but had everything we needed or wanted! Kettle in the room was great for some tea. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Would def stay here again if I come back to Darlington
