By the end of the 19th century, an electric Interurban train network connected cities and towns across Ohio.

In 1904 the Columbus, Newark & Zanesville interurban railway was built from Newark-Zanesville,

This stretch of rail required a tunnel over 300 feet long through a large rock outcrop.

The train ran for the last time on February 15, 1929.

"The common area was very dirty, grills filthy, kitchen full of mice turds, suggest storing everything in plastic totes a lids.. pots and pans very gross, clean the whole place. The cabin was nice but outdoor chairs filthy .. had to use common area to cook , no kitchen in cabin "

"We had an enjoyable weekend retreat in a very clean and cozy cabin located in the trees on a high bank alongside a picturesque stream. The accommodations very nice with comfortable living and sleeping areas.
