"Most supportive, genuine staff! Excellent place, if we were staying longer would have explored the spa. Super short walk to see the water. Breakfast was delicious, cooked to order. Great towels and pillows. Bed was very firm, but more than I prefer. The place was pristine, very impressive. Staff got us booked on a whale watching boat ride the night before, allowed us to store luggage before we departed."

We loved this property. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The location is fantastic. Just steps away from a beautiful beach and you can easily hook up to the cliff path for a wonderful walk into town (about an hour). A real highlight of our stay. Unfortunately I was sick during our visit so couldn't do as much in the area as I hoped but staff was very helpful and accommodating

Homely and well run guest house with very pleasant rooms, facilities and staff. We really enjoyed our stay which we extended to three nights - driving quite far afield to see the beautiful beaches, towns and countryside. We also took advantage of the well planned sea walkway (west) of the guest house, enjoying the ocean waves, rock formations and nature. Hermanus is a little touristy, but has some very good restaraunts, which the staff happlily reserved and directed us to.

Our stay at Birkenhead House was the ultimate Hermanus retreat. From the warm, attentive team to the eclectic design and breathtaking floral displays, every detail left us feeling spoiled. Ideally situated steps from the beach and scenic walking routes, it was a paradise for nature lovers—complete with dozens of whale sightings, rich birdlife, and the striking indigenous flora of the Western Cape.
