Just the best tucked away spot! Everything was absolutely amazing. Truly couldn't have asked for a better remote location! And the views were incredible!!
Will definitely book again!!
Everything was perfect. One of the best places we have ever stayed at. Host was amazing also. They took the time to tell us where to see some unique things and showed photos of the wildlife in the area. Cant’ thank them enough for letting us stay at such a wonderful place
We have traveled all over the world, and this is one of the most amazing properties we have ever stayed at. It's a truly extraordinary house. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The views of Mount Rushmore are so beautiful, and the house is so tranquil, well appointed, and serene. Pictures don't really do it justice. I so hope we can return and add a few extra days just to enjoy the quiet.
I loved everything about this home. My favorite part was waking up to see our 4 best friends on Mt. Rushmore every morning while enjoying a cup of coffee and getting to see them illuminated at night before going to bed. Our kids loved running and playing around the property and there is plenty of space for everyone inside as well. The kids really enjoyed getting to stay in the "tower" while the adults enjoyed the double master bedrooms and spacious kitchen.
It is also located close to all the fun activities the Black Hills have to offer, we will definitely be staying here again.
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The home is set in the woods and is private and peaceful. You don’t see any other homes but the view of Mount Rushmore from the kitchen/deck is spectacular! The 2 master suites worked out well for the 4 of us but the new/additional master was a little too warm at night without shades on any of the windows. The beds were very comfy. The deck is large and a great place to have coffee in the morning and is also perfect for unwinding after a day of hiking/exploring. The kitchen is well stocked for dinner at home. Going to dinner at either Keystone or Custer is a short drive but plugging restaurant directions in at the house is necessary before you leave and lose a signal in the hills. Communication with the host was excellent.

Great house but a few problems
This is a beautiful house in a great location. I would like to give it 5 stars, but a few problems prevent this.
Poor communication from host. We were notified about lack of laundry facilities and construction in process less than a month before our trip (too late to make changes). I received the house rules (no TV, bring DVD’s, no shoes in the house, bring slippers) when I was at the airport heading west. We received no communication that we would have to walk through the construction to get to 5 of the 6 bedrooms, that the screened porch had been removed (there were hornets), nor about the non-functioning ice maker.
Any group with mobility issues: Be aware that 5 of the 6 bedrooms are accessed through construction and 4 of the 5 bedrooms in the “bunkhouse” are on the second floor and are accessed by a spiral staircase. We were not able to bring our suitcases up to these bedrooms. Both bathrooms in the bunkhouse are on the first floor.
Again, this is a beautiful house in a good location, and we had a nice time.
Quality of accomodations is amazing. It is remote - 20 minutes out of keystone but that is part of what makes it special.
Great place to unwind. Woukd stay here again.
Property was amazing I know most go during the summer but this is a winter wonderland amazing views, amazing hiking areas, snow for the kids and a house with all the amenities to keep you warm and make family memories.
We came out to climb Black Elk Peak and decided this was the most appropriate place to stay with the replica tower. We enjoyed the beautiful setting and beautiful home!
Our family tremendously enjoyed this property. It was exactly as pictured and described. Our three preteen boys loved the bunkhouse tower. The main house was a perfect spot to hang out between excursions to explore the property and the nearby Iron Creek Trail and Lake Lakota. Our 10 year old reports that the view of Mt. Rushmore from the kitchen is "breathtaking." We were glad we brought all the food we needed for our stay, as the location is very remote.
I can't say enough good things about our stay at this property. Once we arrived at the house, it was like we were isolated from the rest of the world, out in the middle of a dense forest. The view was outstanding in all directions and we spent each night out on the deck until the moon and stars were shining bright. I'd come back in a heartbeat and would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone wanting a totally unique get away. The longer we stayed, the more we didn't want to leave.

Mount Rushmore view house
House is beautiful! Obviously, the owner /builder took great pride in design and furnishing.
Location is ideal. Perfect accommodations for a couple. Bedrooms for anyone else is in a separate structure.
Some negatives:
washing machine and dryer didn’t work
hot water was dark and funky
loud creaks in ceiling all times of day and night
dead mouse in master closet, in trap for what appears to be weeks.
House was amazing. Architecture is really cool. Just a couple suggestions. 1) might be on us but look out tower houses most of the bedrooms. We had littles which meant they were in a separate building. Would have liked to have known. 2) they are tight w their towel game. Only two towels per bathroom which for an extended stay was annoying. Otherwise it was a spectacular home w better views
This is an incredible property. Everything about it is beautiful, the view, the neighborhood, the home, and the furniture. Equidistant to all of the attractions nearby. The one issue those looking to stay need to be aware- it was not clear to us from the listing that there is only one bedroom in the main home, we missed it in the narrative. All of the other bedrooms are in the bunkhouse (tower) which is right next to but separate and detached from the home. It wasn't a big deal for us but could be an issue for those traveling with younger children. This might be the nicest home to rent in the entire Black Hills area. Owner was very responsive to any questions. We would 100% absolutely stay here again.

Property Not as Described.
The high excitement my wife, newborn and parents in law had leading up to the trip regarding the wonderful, beautiful location & property quickly faded once we realized Tina R. (owner) and Tina K. (manager) had grossly misrepresented the property. Upon arrival in April 2023, 1/3 of the compound was under construction and off-limits to us (told merely 24 hours before stay). Moreover, the laundry was non-functional with "out of order" signs upon arrival (not told before arrival; literally the first thing we saw as we talked in). Solution proposed by Tina K. was "there are laundromats 40 minutes away". Walking in mud/dirt/grass between the compounds at night was dangerous and filthy.
Suffice to say, this was an absolute terrible experience at a high cost and I would never return to a property under similar management/ownership.
Despite the beautiful location/views, I strongly recommend avoiding at all costs.
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. We had great days at all the attractions but loved to come back at the end of the day and enjoy a meal and look at the beautiful scenery. We would highly recommend this home.
The house was a wonderful home base for all our goals on this trip. We Drove to Devils Tower, (3 hours) Mammoth Site (Less than 1 1/2 hours), Crazy Horse (Less than 1 hour) Mount Rushmore (Less than 30 minutes) Wall Drug (1 1/2 Hours) & Badlands same day. As suggested if you do major grocery shopping you should do in Rapid City ... However, we discovered that the Lynn's Dakotamarts were really nice groceries... They had them in Custer. We didnt eat out except twice... Custer Wolf in Custer was really good!! and we ate at the cafe inside Wall Drug, it was surprisingly good... they also have amazing peanut butter fudge! Wonderful trip with friends overall!
Just all around amazing property for our family visiting the Black Hills. Home is gorgeous, location is quiet and secluded. Great base for exploring the area or just staying at home and enjoying the peace. Highly recommend and would love to return.
Great view, deck, screened-in porch, kitchen and overall house. Many things to do and see in the area. Also knowing the property manager was so wonderfully responsive to our questions. Definitely a 5+star rental!
Our family loved staying at this location. Having the tower space was perfect my adult children to convene in the later evening to continue their socializing and have space apart from us. The view was worth the cost. Keystone only 18 minutes away so it felt very isolated and peaceful yet in reach of civilization. Property was very clean, kitchen well stocked with non-food items, and beds were comfortable. I was not anticipating the creaking of the roof all day and night due to its expansion and contraction but felt better after realizing what it actually was. Still worth the stay!
