"Staff at the front desk was great"

" family stayed at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Lawn for four nights, and overall the experience was disappointing. The bathroom door made loud noises every time it opened, and housekeeping failed to clean our room even after I personally requested full service and towels at the front desk before leaving for the day. When we returned after midnight, the trash was still there, the beds were not made, and there were no clean towels. I called the front desk several times with no answer and had to go downstairs myself, only to find the clerk having a personal conversation and watching TV. While she apologized, it felt very unprofessional. I was also charged for an $8 bottle of water that we never touched. My husband even said you can buy a 12-pack of water at Walmart for that price. As a Hilton Honors member since 2017 with a Hilton American Express card, I was frustrated by the confusion regarding the “free” water bottles. To make matters worse, guests were partying loudly until 3:00 AM the night before our early flight, making it impossible to sleep. I expected much better service and professionalism from a Hilton property."

"The person at the desk when we checked in was great and a hard worker (when we saw him the next morning, he was washing windows). He was the only highlight of our stay. The room needed a lot of maintenance. The air did not work at all. When I turned on the water in the shower, it came out orangish-brownish-rust. The traffic was very noisy. The electrical outlets were loose and didn’t hold my phone charger. The chair in the room was so worn out, the green material was completely absent on the seat and most area of the arms, showing a layer of black vinyl-like material. We travel a lot and this was in the top two worst rooms we’ve ever stayed in."

"After reviewing the property and overall guest experience, I wanted to share some constructive feedback from a property management and hospitality perspective. The property itself has strong potential, an excellent location, and many qualities that make it appealing to guests. However, there currently appears to be a noticeable gap between the pricing being presented and the overall operational and presentation standards being delivered compared to other hotels and professionally managed properties in the surrounding market. While there are no major structural concerns, several areas would benefit from additional attention to detail, preventative maintenance, and cosmetic refreshing. General repainting, touch-up work, surface refinishing, and improvements to overall presentation would significantly elevate the guest experience and help the property better align with guest expectations at this price point. At the moment, certain aspects of the property feel slightly below the standard guests now associate with premium hospitality accommodations. Small cosmetic issues, aging finishes, inconsistent detailing, and reactive maintenance collectively impact the perception of quality and value, even when the property itself remains highly desirable. "the tub was nasty and filthy a ring a black ring around the tub and towel. the room wasn't touched at all. the bathroom didn't had property lighting in it at all. the rug was filthy and nasty. the air conditioner was molded inside dusty and dirty. black mold around the room and big cockroach bugs in the room. I want a full refund of my stay I would never visit a filthy motel this filthy motel ever again."
