"When we realised we would be arriving outside of check-in times, I called the hotel number (from their website) and they made sure we would still be able to get to our room. Room 17 was lovely, particularly enjoyed the bathtub after such a long drive, the water was very hot! Rooms were immaculate, quality towels and bedding. Peaceful at night, I slept very well. Breakfast was included, cooked items were an extra cost, but I was more than happy with the buffet provided. I enjoyed reading about the history of the building in their information guide. I spoke to a lady in the morning about the possibility of checking out late, as we had arrived so late the night before and they were able to let us stay a while longer. We didn’t get any mobile signal there, which I didn’t mind, and there was the option to pay a small fee for the password to their Wifi. There was a phone in the room and we were able to make outgoing calls, so this was enough for us to keep in touch with family. "

"An oasis near the centre of Taunton - All I needed was a beer, some food and a very comfy bed after a hard day and they obliged in ample measure. Although the chef count was down to one through an absence they still managed to rustle up a nice meal (thanks guys). The bed was huge and the room nice and large. Breakfast was ample. All in all it was what we all seek but find it hard to discover these days - Good Value. "
