We were really disappointed in the rental. This place has great potential. Location is awesome.
However, at first walk through of the unit we found a large cockroach in the bathroom upside down still wiggling.
I called the office which was closed due to it being a Sunday I received an answering service. She asked me if it was a palmetto bug and not a cockroach I said I was certain it was a cockroach. I hung up with her Googled palmetto bug and a very well known extermination company stated that palmetto bugs are the same thing as cockroaches.
The unit is not very clean. The white walls and baseboards are Very dirty. Curtains in living entry area are dirty. The appliances on the outside were dirty as well. Furniture was extremely sun bleached and discolored.
When I pay a lot of money for what I expect to be a nice place to stay on vacation it is pretty disheartening. There was only one review on Vrbo which we clearly took a gamble on. We let management know how we felt especially about the cleanliness of the place they said they could have the place "spruced up."
When I pay for a place to stay I feel it should be clean between guests and not need to be "spruced up." Just do the cleaning and maintenance correctly.
The Wi-Fi was not working so the internet company techs came into look at the internet. They ended up having to kick us out of the unit while we were napping to look at the cable boxes! The cable boxes were not even an ISSUE!
There is a large rat out in the pool area that came out for a visit on our first night in the pool area while we had just finished grilling and were starting to eat dinner at the table. Our daughters stood on the table immediately. It has been out there every night since. We refused to be out there when the sun went down. Such a shame since again it was a nice space.
Also I like to do laundry during the day and at night but could no longer comfortably go down there alone as I am terrified of rodents especially large rats.
FYI the laundry room is out by the pool area (I had trouble locating it at first) careful for the rat.
