"We absolutely loved this place! It was cozy and clean. There was bottled water and chocolate covered almonds on the nightstand when we arrived. The grounds were nice with tables outside and chairs by our door where we could have coffee in the morning.There are pretty hanging flower baskets outside the rooms. "We had a such a great time at the Salida Inn & Monarch Suites. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, in fact they went above & beyond to ensure we were satisfied with our stay. There's a free breakfast in the morning with a nice assortment of snacks & beverages. The property looks slightly rough on the outside, but the suite we enjoyed was one of the most spacious rooms I've experienced and was remodeled/updates. There's sufficient free parking and the hot tub in the rear was a highlight of an amenity. The location was right on the main thoroughfare Hwy 50/Rainbow Blvd. and a short 10 min. or less drive to the downtown Salida restaurants. Overall, for the value and location, highly recommended. We would visit again."

"They let us have a room for our cat, it very hard to find hotels that will let you have a cat in the room! They have a designated room for pets and the cat love it! She is a very picky cat! Our room was clean and had everything we need in it! The person at front desk was friendly and helpful! I would stay there again!"

"This was our third stay at the Amigo over the last year, and we’ll continue to stay there when our travels take us through Salida. The motel is very clean and comfortable, and we always feel safe there. It is easy walking distance to a great brewery and Mexican restaurant (as well as other places worth going to, like the Salida Museum), but it’s a bit farther to the downtown area. You can definitely walk it, but we tend to drive and park a little closer. Staff members are always friendly and helpful, but do be aware that the front desk is not always staffed, so do pay attention to those check in hours and breakfast hours. The breakfast is a nice grab and go assortment of granola bars, oatmeal, tea, and good coffee. They also have chilled water available (free in the office when it is staffed). The decor is fun and funky and guests tend to be friendly, creating a nice environment. The Amigo will continue to be our first choice of a place to stay in Salida."

"WE enjoyed our Stay there. The AC worked. My wife did not like how the bathroom was arranged. the toilet and shower were in one room and the sink and mirror was in another room. I thought it was okay since I could shower while she brushed her teeth and vise versa. I didn't like the shower curtain. The room did have drawer so we did not have to live out of our suitcase. the GWRL was in a good place so we could sight see the Great Sand Dunes NP, or the Royal Gorge Bridge. Overall it was a good stay."
