Lovely hotel - a real gem

Perfect for these two oldster Pennine Way walkers. Convenient to all we needed.

My family of four stayed in this lovely inn at the end of December 2015. We were looking for a place to stay between attending a Manchester United Football game and visiting the English countryside. This location was perfect! It allowed us to stay out of the city in a more relaxed and less commercial inn, so that we could truly get a feel for the area. Had a little problem with the toilet but the staff said they would be quick to fix it. Other than that our stay was great. The food and service were excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel!

This was such a nice property and room! I felt so fancy here. The breakfast was great value and I loved having plates/microwave/fridge/utensils in the room too, made it easy to keep leftovers. Very close to the train, too. Would definitely stay again.

Great property, reasonably priced, comfortable and clean room. Kitchenette was great and the bathroom was lovely. I found the bed to be incredibly comfortable. Breakfast buffet was great, plenty of choices, and allergens were labeled for all items; separate space for gluten-free items. Laundry room was good, small washers & dryers that were serviceable and free for guests (byo detergent), and much appreciated. Staff were all polite, helpful, and seemed genuinely pleasant. Absolutely charming! The owner and staff outdid themselves with welcoming us later in the evening and making sure to seat us in the quite lovely dining room for a hot meal before retiring to our spacious guest room upstairs. The room was today and had lots of thoughtful amenities: tea, coffee, a variety of snacks, lots of toiletries. Breakfast was very good and served with warmth and hospitality. Definitely a wonderful place to stay.

Clean and well appointed rooms. The staff was incredible, friendly, and wonderfully accommodating. The breakfast was top notch. We've stayed here twice and will certainly stay again when we are in the area.

Amazing hotel and atmosphere. Every detail every amenity carries the treehouse theme and feel. My favorite hotel experience. I didn’t want to leave.
