"The office closes at 10 PM so if you’re arriving late, make sure you make arrangements for somebody to pick up your key. Otherwise you’re kind of out of luck. Thankfully, I have family that lives in the area that was able to do this for us as we didn’t get in till 1130. The rooms were definitely dated and I know they’re going for the whole retro vibe but I think it’s just a reason for them to not update the entire hotel. It is definitely old, but the rooms were clean and everything worked as it should. At the price that we paid, I believe this was an excellent value compared to other hotels in the area. Would visit again."

"Pool was fantastic. Host was very responsive and fast with answers and solutions. Dining table was big enough for our whole family of twelve. Kitchen was stocked with lots of utensils, dishes, and cookware. House was older and needs some sprucing up but clean and sufficient. We would book this place again!"

"Rooms are clean and functional. Staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was pretty good. My kids loved the pool and the staff accommodate our group to be able to be with 1 or 2 rooms of each other. Breakfast was pretty good and the coffee was above what we thought but Dunkin and Starbucks are a minute or two away if you need it."

"The house was beautiful and in a great location. The history of the home and decor was amazing. I went here with my husband's side of his dad's family. There was 12 of us. Perfect number of rooms and beds for all of us. Beautiful view of the lake. There are 3 refrigerators, 4.5 baths, 2 laundry facilities, and 4 sitting areas. Only 1 bedroom on the main floor and the rest upstairs. I would like a way to go to the water from the backyard but it was fine. The view was spectacular. Need to know - temp needs to be set to 74 in the summer, strip all sheets from beds used before checking out, wash all loads over 3 (sheets and towels but wash separately), take all trash out. Other than making sure all laundry was done for the house, we all really loved staying at this house and hope to stay here in the future!!!If you are looking for a queit, relaxing, and tranquil place to stay, this house is perfect. I highly recommend this house as a place to stay near Starved Rock, IL."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Being a history and architect buff, I appreciated that the home had very few alterations since it's construction. After reading so much about Lustrons, it was neat to see all the home's innovative features in person. We were also impressed with the way the house was decorated to complete the mid century theme. Due to the comfy bed, we sleep well both nights andwe also enjoyed relaxing on the rear patio. We appreciated how clean the home was. We are already planning a return trip"
