"Truly wonderful staff who really understand how to make you feel welcome and comfortable without being overly ‘there’. Plenty of space to relax and be ourselves. A couple of the waiting staff outside were a little brusque for our tastes but this is splitting hairs.
Spectacular location and the views over the marina are stunning. The view was well worth the money for a room upgrade in my eyes.
The room itself was spacious and very comfortable. The bath was deep, filled quickly and hot enough for plenty of monkey noises getting it in!
The bed was big and supportive, albeit with a worrying gap in the middle I nearly went through.
The restaurant was simple, elegant and inviting. The food was a real treat. I expected good. I didn’t expect THAT good. Speaking of which, the cocktails were outstanding.
We rounded off our stay with coffee in the sunshine and reflected that this will be our base whenever we’re back in Ipswich.
