YuYu Hakone - Private Open Air Onsen Usage Guaranteed
8/10 Good
"The hotel was beautiful, The room with futon were big and nice. The onsen was nice. The staff was nice, initially, untill they lied to us by telling us they would send our luggage to our next hotel, and it would get there late the same day. It didn't. When I asked they said the person in charge of that wasn't there, that it was normal to take up ton2-3 days (which is probably true, but they should have told us so we could have made an informed decision) we ended up in a different city with no clothes pijamas, toiletries, etc for a day and a half) they did not offer any compensation"
"The hôtel is wonderful! Every detail has been carefully considered and crafted using high-quality materials.
The lounge, with snacks and drinks, adds to the hotel experience.
Unfortunately, the dining room left us with mixed feelings regarding the dining experience. We made requests that were not honored. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the staff's attitude changed, and our dining room experience became unpleasant.
It's a real shame because, although the hotel is extraordinary, I would hesitate to book again."
"This was the most charming hotel with so much history and beautiful details. We stayed in the Angel room, which was gorgeous and spacious, and had an amazing view of the mountains. The gardens behind the property were so pretty with little walking paths and waterfalls. We loved the 1920's feel of the property. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend!"
"This is a family-friendly hotel with a strong focus on kids, so there are lots of children around, especially at lunch, which can be overwhelming. The hotel is very nice; the pool and gardens are also attractive. However, if you're visiting without small children, it might not be the best choice."
"Great location, quick walk to the train station. Enjoyed the free snacks & drinks after 7pm social & the garden outside was so beautiful. Breakfast buffet was very good. I only wish I had more time to spend in Hakone. Loved it. Massage therapists did a great job as well."
"It was a clean and comfortable stay, conveniently located near the station and convenience stores, with friendly staff. You can ship your suitcase to the airport via the Kuroneko Yamato service inside the station, and the Tully's Coffee on the ground floor is a lovely space—this is also where you can pick up your complimentary breakfast."
"Booked only for one night. Wished we would have booked for another stay. Beautiful property. Utilize the free shuttle available from the train station to the hotel. Don’t attempt to walk especially if carrying luggage as there are steep hills. You will be asked to remove your shoes before entering hotel so make sure you have decent socks on as this is a shoeless property."
