"I thought a shukubo would be a very simple minimalist accommodation but it was a luxurious stay. A pleasant surprise. Great staff and service, beautiful gardens, wonderful shojin meals, relaxing bath after our long hike, and a morning service in the main hall. It was a perfect experience"

"All was excellent and we had a beautiful room. Food was very delicious "

"Great experience. Location is great. Quiet and warm atmosphere. Dinner was well prepared. You have to sit down on tatami for dinner, but low chairs available. After meals, we were invited to the meditation. Morning service at 6:30 was a great way to start the day. Very nice atmosphere and it is run well. I do highly recommend."

"Great location in the center of town so very convenient to visit the temples and cemetery."

"Great place and experience. The food was fresh and good and friendly people both working and living in the temple. Remember that it's cold in the temple during winter. The bedroom is warm."

"Quiet and welcoming"

"This traditional Japanese Inn is thoroughly modern with excellent facilities, rooms, Michelin quality food, and helpful staff. We want to call out ‘Mikki’ who was super kind and helped us with any language barriers we had. The entire restaurant staff was amazing and we are grateful to meet the chef. The onsens were also wonderful. A room here with breakfast and dinner included is an excellent value."
