"Muy sencillo y antiguo el hotel.
El ascensor no funciona. Por fortuna eran 3 pisos para subir con maletas.
La habitación muy anticuada, el baño nada agradable.
Tenía una ventana, con una vista muy fea , a un techo de una casa al lado. No había ni una silla, 1 solo gancho y closet muy estrecho. Muy anticuado.
Nada de shampoo y con jabón pequeño de barra muy mala calidad."
"Avoid!!! I arrived at about 5:30 at night, had a booking confirmed for over a week and NOBODY WAS THERE!
Rang the bell, messaged and tried to call several times - no reply! People from the shops below were even trying to help me contact them.
Finally Expedia customer service helped find me another place to stay, which was thankfully nearby, nicer and less expensive.
I'm a pretty experienced traveler but this was kind of scary. I'm a woman, alone, in a new city and it was starting to get...
"The hotel was well situated and easy to get to. Walking distance to many activities, shops churches and museums etc Room was nice and clean each time we returned from our outings. The only inconvenience was not being able to go out early for church service as the hotel was closed until 7.30am. A Comfortable stay in beautiful city that Cuenca turned out to be. "

"I enjoyed this property because the free breakfast was served kindly and thoughtfully. I also booked tours like the Cajas and a Bus ride to Turi through them. As an English speaker, the receptionists were attentive to my questions and answered them well. "

"First time in Cuenca, so I wasn't sure what sort of place the Hotel Azul would be. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise! Nothing over the top, but all aspects of this cozy place impressed me. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice view of the city and strong/ consistent Wi-Fi. The location is great -- a short walk down to the river or quick stroll to the city center (although there are plenty of affordable and tasty restaurants within a stone's throw). But the best part of Hotel Azul was the staff, who went above and beyond to make sure my stay was memorable. Speaking Spanish is helpful but not vital, as everyone was patient with my limited language skills and they were more than comfortable assisting me in English. Coffee and breakfast are available in the morning, and they even have a convenient on-site laundry option that is amazingly affordable. I ended up extending my stay for a few days because I enjoyed it so much. Hotel Azul does everything right -- you won't be disappointed if you stay here during your time in Cuenca!"
