Watauga River Cabins Sycamore Cabin

This cabin (Sycamore Cabin) is part of our 'rustic lodge'. Our 'rustic lodge' is located on the banks of the beautiful Watauga River, halfway between Johnson City and Elizabethton. The lodge was designed to resemble a horse barn and sits on 5 acres with over 600 feet of river frontage and consists of 3 cabins.

The downstairs Sycamore cabin has over 800 square feet of living space. The cabin has a queen bed and full bath downstairs. In the loft there is a queen bed, two single beds and a half bath.

All linens are included -- all you have to do is pick up some food and bring your personal items -- all other items will be provided for you! The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, cookware, toaster, coffee maker and microwave.

The cabin has heat/air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat screen satellite TV (Direct TV is provider), DVD/VCR, central laundry facility and gas grill.

There is also a full hook-up RV pad with 50 amp service, located on the river. (extra cost) The RV lot has a private deck that overlooks the river.

Very convenient to both Johnson City and Elizabethton (10 minutes) as well as Roan Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain and Hawksnest ski resorts (45-60 minutes). Immediately adjacent to the lodge is the Watauga River which is about 100 feet wide and is home to some of the finest Trout fishing in the Eastern United States. Trout species in the Watauga River are Rainbow, Brook and Brown as well as several types of Bass and various non-game species. This lower part of the Watauga has been designated as the 'Quality Trout Zone.'

Beautiful Property

What’s great place to stay! We had so much privacy and direct access to the river. The place was very clean, the grounds were also very clean well maintained with so much to do. We were just a short drive to downtown Johnson City and the surrounding areas. We had such a great time fishing and hanging out by the river here, we hope we get to go back!

Excellent choice for a visit to Johnson City

We searched all sorts of options for a family trip to Johnson City and we lucked out finding this property. On the river, close to Johnson City, beautiful get-away. Lots of hiking, fishing, caving nearby.

**Review for VRBO Stay** We had a fantastic stay! The location couldn't have been better for our getaway – it was so convenient. We had family and friends with us, with some renting the cabin beside ours, and it worked out perfectly. Excellent place to stay

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We were in town for my mom's 80th birthday and needed a place for our family to stay. My sister and her family stayed in the unit right next door. It was perfect for everyone. Just wish we could have stayed longer and been able to enjoy the firepit.

great place for a fishing trip with friends. the place has a great set up. right on the trophy water section of the watuga. cooked out steaks and had refreshing beverages around the campire at night.

Watauga River Cabins Vacation

This was the 5th time I have stayed at the cabins. Each time it gets more and more enjoyable. The cabins are always super clean, the beds are comfortable and the setting is incredible. My family had a really relaxing time. I will be back!!

We had planned to stay during the weekend of Hurricane Helene, but mother nature had other plans. Patti and Gary were super responsive during a crazy time and very understandable in regards to working out a solution for our reservation. Amazing! An outdoor lover's paradise.

We are a group of 2 couples, friends for 45+ years. We both own farms and live for the peace of the outdoors. The property truly offers home away from home, peace and serenity. We have stayed several times and will be back in the fall. The Watauga River Cabins has been and will continue to be our gathering place to catch up and spend time together since we live miles apart.

sad to leave!!

There are truly no words to explain how breath taking the cabin & river really are! Our family came to the cabin with hopes to fall in love with TN & we did that & more! The cabin is clean & better then what is shown... walking in automatically felt like home! I was afraid with the shared space there would be “awkward” moments with others staying but nope, everyone was so focused on having a blast! The rocking chairs & sitting deck down by the river were by far our favorite! My husband & I sat in the rocking chairs for hours at night listening to the river! Leaving felt like leaving a home we’ve known for years! We will be back!!

Little dust, little cobwebs, But a Whole Lot of Country!

We were here for the NASCAR Race in Bristol. This was the best little spot. Allowed us to easily come & go and stay all together as a family of 4. It was great to be able to see East Tn mountains & the curvy roads up to Bristol. We loved it! I hate that we couldn’t spend time using the outside spaces because they looked incredibly inviting. Hope to get back so we can use those & other outdoor activities in the area. So, yes, it’s a little dated, a little dust, & the typical cobwebs in the corners due to the cool mountain air. But it was home for the weekend and very much a part of our memories & lives forever. Thx for sharing this very unique place!

There were some issues. Was given two door combos but one worked. Was too close to others. Another renter would show up outside our sliding door to use our rocking chairs. Was not pleased. Did not provide Kleenex. Lighting was too dim. No lighting over dining table. Standing light needed a 3-way bulb. Floors did not seem clean. Toilet paper was commercial. Not my type.

We loved this property. The outside amenities are great. Plenty of seating,grills, and firewood. The view of the river was awesome and peaceful. Cabin was clean and cozy. Would definitely come back again.
