"This was a very comfortable and welcoming guest house for a very authentic Japanese experience. It had everything we needed and Kenji was very helpful and kind. The steps to the second floor are steep so it would be tricky for anyone who has difficulty walking. For anyone intimidated by sharing a bathroom or toilet- it was fine. We had no trouble using the facilities whenever we needed them even though the guest house was full. It was a lovely stay. "

"There are so many cute little touches to this hotel! In our room, there is a beautiful rice crackers package and a handmade folded crane for good luck! When at the front desk there was yummy mochi for guests to try! Oishii! So good! There is a dining area on the left you can sit and drink ice water and hot tea if you are staying at the hotel. The staff is so friendly! They carried our luggage to our room before we checked in at 2pm! We did drop our luggage at 11am and went adventuring! There is a microwave down the hall to warm up your food or reheat your left overs! With free chopsticks, forks, spoons, etc. cups for your drinks! Free tea and bottled water in your room and breath taking views of the river right from your bedroom window. Absolutely love it here! Walked to the public onsen around the corner to try! You can get a discount ticket from the hotel staff here for a discounted price! We love it! Thank you again! Can’t wait to visit again next year! "

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were kind and welcoming, and the location was perfect—peaceful, not noisy or crowded. There were many sightseeing spots along the street leading to Arashiyama Station (JR), which made exploring the area very enjoyable. The hot bath was very relaxing, and the bed was super comfortable. I would love to come back again! "

"Small property but packs a punch. Offered a refreshing tea upon arrival. Close to the bamboo forest, but you can the escape the hustle and bustle of the sea of tourists. Rooms and clean and tidy. And very large! Would stay there again for sure."

"The place was amazing, if you're looking for a typical japanese experience this is the place . The property is nice and well maintained. The rooms are not new but it add to the classical japanese experience. Overall i recommend if you are looking to live the authentical japanese experience. The staff was so polite and professional too."

"Phenomenal property. I would highly recommend booking with meal service, it’s truly a world class japanese meal you’re treated to. We booked a room with a private onsen, which was great to have after a long day of sightseeing. The room was very large, with all modern amenities and many complimentary items to eat and drink. It’s not quite a traditional Ryokan but it’s close. Tatami mats, no shoes inside, a lovely Japanese garden we could see from our veranda. We stayed here for one day in the middle of our trip and it really helped us recharge after lots of walking and touristy stuff. Would definitely stay here again. Truly a beautiful property and a great place to take a break from the usual tourist attractions while in Japan."
