"Nice hotel but did have its flaws, areas of the hotel/ room were starting to look tired and needed a refresh, the shower doesn’t get warm and has awful pressure. The hotel staff are lovely, apart from the reception they can be quite rude and very unhelpful. The hotel is definitely more catered for Chinese tourists. The hotel is fine but I probably wouldn’t stay again."

"Served a purpose for our week stay with young children. The pools were the best part and plenty of sunloungers. The immediate area wasn’t the most relaxing, opposite a night food market blasting music felt like you were in Benidorm on a lads weekend. Some of the other guests we found could be quite rude I think the hotel is on the lower end of luxury but the pool was good, would I recommend it probably not, would I go again probably not."

"Didn’t like it. It was raining and nobody had plastic bags to put over your suitcases so my luggage got soaked and they wanted 1700 baht just for a boat transfer back to the pier. I was supposed to stay 2 nights but ended up leaving within 24hrs. I recommend if you plan on doing a boat tour stay somewhere close to the tonsai pier so you don’t have to take a lot of boat taxis. It’s will save you time and money."

"Overall, we had a good stay at Chanalai Garden Resort. The service was good, and the location is excellent — very close to the beach. However, we booked a double bed room, but initially we were given two single beds combined together, which was not very comfortable. After we requested to move, the hotel kindly gave us a room with a real double bed. It would have been better if this had been arranged correctly from the beginning. One small suggestion regarding breakfast: we noticed quite a lot of birds coming to leftover food on the tables. It may be better to clear used plates more quickly. Also, for unoccupied tables, perhaps the cutleries could be placed later when guests arrive, as some birds were sitting on the forks and spoons. I think this would make the breakfast area feel more hygienic. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the friendly service."
