Kato Katelios is a seaside village with a sand and shingle beach and is 32 km from the island's capital of Argostoli. Katelios is famous for its fresh fish tavernas and if you like fishing, you can catch your own! This rural setting is a paradise for lovers of nature so if you enjoy walking, discovering rare plants and birds, then bring some comfortable shoes and follow the local footpaths.
The location of Katelios is very un-commercialised, the largest number of visitors being the loggerhead turtles. If you are interested in the protection of the caretta caretta turtles, who love the sandy beaches in the area, take a visit to the Katelios Environmental group, who have set up a small museum and information centre.

"Stayed here August 24. Had the surprise of 49 euro resort tax for being a 4 star hotel. I wouldn’t say it was 4 star, more like 3 at a push. The hotel is located on the edge of town. I stayed here bed and breakfast but I wouldn’t do that again as you have to wear wrist band anyway and it’s not nice being around the pool watching everyone get inclusive drinks and general prices of 16 euro per 2 drinks is expensive. "If you're looking at Domus Alta, don't hesitate, just book it! Just returned from 10 days here and for the price we paid we were absolutely delighted with every aspect of our stay here. From super quick check-in to when we left we could not fault our apartment and the lovely owner, Angella, made sure every detail was perfect for us. Large room with kitchenet which included table top stove, fridge, sink, all cutlery etc. Bathroom was spotless, rooms were cleaned everyday with new towels/sheets...

"Room was great, though would've been nice to not face the street. Having said so, still felt fairly private as sheilded by plants. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Romm cleaned to a good standard every day. Only let down was the dinners included in the half board option. Small buffet, with not the best of food. We opted to eat elsewhere most evenings as the price was thecsame for b&b and half board."
